When was the current high school erected? Have there been any major expansions or building wide upgrades?

As big as Halifax county is why not build two high schools one in South Boston and the other in north Halifax county.

Franklin County has 20k more residents and they would rather burn the entire county to the ground than build a second school because all they do is count their pennies. Being sensible can sometimes cost money and by god they want to be buried with every last bit of copper-plated coin they've ever acquired.

I believe the current school was built in the 60's and has never had any type of major renovation or expansions. I do know that the price tag of $172 million is with 30 years of interest added to the price. Most of the estimates are coming back around $120 million or slightly under and that is for an entirely new building plus all new athletic fields, and field turf for the football/soccer field.
