Since nearly the beginning of the season ole Hammy has been jabbing us Red fans about what we got ourselves into by scheduling Sherando. Post after post of we can't do this or that. Well thank you Hamspear for motivating our kids and fans. We appreciate it. Hats off to Sherando. When you come out of hiding we will be waiting on your take on the game. Crow and a slice of humble pie quenched by haterade is a tough pill to swallow.

Oh. I understand now. He has not been as bad on this board about promoting Sherando and bashing other teams this year. But it could be Salem noise drowning him out.

So seriously...could someone do a well check on Hamspear? I'm worried he choked to death on his words.

If you're gonna talk smack, you gotta at least take your lumps. Otherwise you're just a bad sport. I've been there, too. But I've always showed my face afterwards.

Can't you Maryland folks just ask for his response without being jerks-----just say Hamspear "any comments" and by the way-- You can have your Peoples Republic of Maryland--enjoy it---I will stay in Virginia and thank God

South, he's had time. The Hamspear was quite the arrogant jerk and had his fun. Just returning the favor in good fun. Nobody means any harm. Western MD is quite different from the rest of the state as far as the population. We are stuck with dumb gun laws but most of us are hunting gun loving folks. Most of us would love to succeed Western MD from the state.

I know --just having some fun--Western Virginia quite a bit different than NOVA--Tidewater and Richmond area. Glad I live where I do

Some of Hammy's posts starting back in July. As someone else said. First posts were friendly and informational. I think Sherando's success got the best of him. We are proud of our win and I was thoroughly impressed with the people and the facilities. Losing to Keyser was the best thing to happen to us. We got much better after that game and prepared us for last night.

-we have seen many many teams much more polished , bigger , faster than Fort hill. You guys need to get outside of western Maryland a little. Now that being said I am sure that the warriors are respecting your teams ability to run the ball first. But if you think your going to roll into Arrowhead stadium and rush for 4 or 500 yards you are sadly mistaken. nobody has done that in ten years. And yes I will give you two hundred yards tonight if you run the ball 50 times. If you do that, and that's it , we will win the game. Period. if keyser scored 48 on you and south Hagerstown scored 20 plus, I know we will score enough. We average giving up 8 points a game. Reality check is coming!

-When was the last time a running clock was on FH?

-We played a terrible game against The dogs, and still won. I expect if the warriors play that bad against Fort Hill they could lose, but I don't expect Sherando to play that bad that late in the season. I expect a good game from Fort Hill. We will need it late in the season, local schools are a little down right now

When I referenced Northern va , I was talking about west of the mountain . however there is not a 4A team in all of Northern virginia that I think would beat Sherando right now. there are plenty of 5A and 6A teams that would beat Sherando.

-August 29th 2015
Sherando toughest games this year will not have anything to do with Jefferson or Washington, both are cupcakes, both wanted to drop us like Mussleman did this year , tired of getting beat., but it was negotiated for them to sign another contract fortunately because we we're struggling to replace some teams we lost like Kettle Run, and Liberty . The top four toughest games on Sherando In my opinion are ranked in this order in my opinion only 1. Martinsburg 2. EasternView 3. Fort Hill 4. Louisa. 5. Millbrook 6. Then maybe Jefferson and the rest. Please don't take offense because I only know what to expect from Martinsburg year in and out, and EV has at least 3 D-1 commits, and a solid returning QB. I fully expect Fort hill to be a challenge and mean no disrespect.

-I believe you, the credibility of Fort hill's program speaks for itself. As for the reffing, there are always going to be close calls and things that don't go any teams way. I was just asking because of our experience at Mussleman a couple of years ago. There was so many rediculous calls that night , hard to list. however I will say this , the Warriors fate that night was not completely decided by those bad calls, we came out sluggish and got down, and thought that Mussleman was going to be a easy win like always. if we were not down that night and TCB'd like we should have the bad. It would have been a non factor . Lesson learned put teams away early. You never know what can happen later.

-After Fort Hill plays Sherando this year, might be a good time to evaluate if Martinsburg would be a better choice.

He recently created a thread stating that he was taking a leave of absence from virginiapreps for awhile. I am not sure of all the details as to why he was getting off the forum but I'm thinking it was 2 or 3 weeks ago when he posted the thread

I have spent a great deal of time in the DC, Montgomery County MD, Fairfax Va, area. Different there is the only way to say it.

Ok we get you guys point he obviously isn't gonna respond or post anything so I guess you can head back on over to the Maryland board now haha

I'm not going to pick anymore. The fun is over. We appreciate your hospitality. Thanks for having us. Good luck with your guys season.

I think he is going to reassess his view of the 4A teams in Northern Virginia as well. Perhaps even the down local teams. I hope Millbrook puts 72 up on them as well.

Not true, I always said it would be a good game. But every poster thinks there team will win. and I also said Fort hill would not beat Sherando running the ball. And they didn't . They Had 136 total rushing yards. In fact until the last drive of the game they had less than 80 yards rushing. Should have taken that plus or minus 200 yard bet that someone wanted to bet me. Oh well. They beat Sherando throwing the ball and some other poor situations caused by Sherando themself within the game . Still got a got a decent team, but the world doesn't revolve around Sherando or Fort hill Football. Congratulations Fort Hill , one gold sticker ! for you. Wish Fort Hill and Sherando the best, good luck the rest of the season.

Peace. And good luck to Sherando. They do have a heck of a team. And great facilities. FH had their own adversities to overcome the first half. They hung in there. Best game I've seen in high school football in quite sometime. Nothing to hang your head about.

Welcome to reality, Hamspear. Thanks for providing so much bulletin board material.

Didn't think we'd see your face on the Western MD board again

I will agree with you on that, was a great game! And I will admit , Fort Hill is a great program and one heck of a small school program. Sherando had countless opportunities to put this game away early, and even in the second half some things could have been done differently, but give Fort Hill boys credit they never quit.

I actually haven't had time to even be on the boards until just now. I have not been at home since Friday night. Let's not pretend like this is the end all to be all. It's a high school football game, and nothing I said on the maryland board was in anyway shocking or something. I was even complimentary to the fort hill program. It's funny you take quotes of mine out of context, without the surrounding comments by the fort hill guys. That doesn't explain the whole story. Like posts that you will blow Sherando off the field. Like Mussleman and Jefferson are better than Sherando. It doesn't matter, things are always said before a game that are not true. I was right about everything, especially shutting # 2 down running the ball , and fort hill running the ball in general. And by the way , the boy is fast, but 4.29 fast. Sorry but that should be adjusted. I was wrong about winning the game, think we have all had that happen. Good luck the rest of the season.

I watched the film on Hudl. The first half was interesting to say the least.

FH denied countless opportunity's to keep the game close. You just don't leave good teams hang around. I believe you once said something similar.

I will offer a truce and hand shake. I was only ribbing you because of the countless posts you ribbed us with. Once again.. Peace.

Come on. Take responsibility a little. Don't keep dragging this out. You ventured to the MD board back in July and started the ribbing. Most ignored it because they knew the task at hand for FH. Then you made comments about nobody wanting to respond to your comments. Well they were good posts thrown in amongst jabs. So let's just let it go and move on.

Same with you, I don't mistake for the pregame ribbing for respect for Fort Hill, one heck of a program, and a quality team. Perhaps one of the best games I have seen in a while, even though on the losing end. Now posters on this board will mistake a Sherando loss as weakness, overrated, all those things that come with a loss. So be it. Perhaps not the third best team in the State , but still a very good team that not many teams will want to see come playoff time. Starting this week with Skyline. This could actually be in some ways a good loss for the remaining of the virginia schedule will need to be taken seriously if Sherando wants to make noise in the playoffs. Good luck to all.

For the record, I understand how people perceive a team based on a loss. FH lost to Keyser and made major changes afterwards. Personnel wise nothing is solidified early for FH. It's a development game and the goal is to improve. Hence last years close game to Keyser. When we got injuries back, changes on the line, etc. We improved tenfold. Keyser is good but many believe we got vastly better after that game. I attribute that improvement to coaching and the kids determination to set themselves apart from the last two championship teams. If the coaches can make the changes to defend your weaknesses you will be fine. It certainly wasn't a traditional run it down your throat FH win. Hats off to your defense. But Graves is crazy scary out there. The pass softened up the run and we saw that the second half. You guys will be fine. We have work to do. As for Brown, I believe grass slowed everyone down a bit. Your defense was big and fast. No doubt.

I was impressed with your QB , hemade accurate throws. It was the complete difference in the game. Without him, your team loses. He will be a good one in the future considering he has a lot of games left for Fort Hill. Sherando had the opportunities to do the same thing and for several reasons couldn't capitalize.

He was dangerous on the ground and accurate in the air. No doubt he was a difference maker. 1a small town football! We didn't have the ability to substitute at will. And when one of our guys got hurt, #50 (non starter) came up huge. Anyway, good game. Good luck man.

yeh Sherando doesn't,really have the ability to sustitute a whole lot either, you guys are just as deep as they are. More enrollment doesn't always equal deeper team. I would like to say Fort Hill is the best team Sherando this year though so far by far. They would easily handle the other teams on Sherando schedule prior to this game. Enrollment has nothing to do with anything. Sherando just got outplayed the second half, hopefully it is a growing experience for them, and make the best of the rest of the season. We only have a really good team once every 3 to 5 years, solid every year, great occasionally. Best of luck! Time for me to move on.

I bet Westfield has at least 1500 kids who are artsy or academic scholars and don't even think about a football. People don't factor those things in when they talk about enrollments.

Yeh James wood and Millbrook have 1300 to 1450 kids respectfully, they have within two hundred kids of Sherando every year. Why does Sherando consistently win more games with a lot more difficult schedule? Or why does James Monroe take on anyone, you think they care much about enrollment of the teams they play. Enrollment has nothing to do with it, we didn't play Fort Hill becuase they have 850 kids in the school. We played them becuase they are good.I will tell you what is considered when scheduling teams. Gate sales, and how competitive will the game be. And then one more thing. GATE. That's it. Anyone that was at the game Friday night was not talking about the enrollment of schools, they were talking about how great of a game it was.

Put them on Louisa's schedule for ten years and, after you see no one play both sides of the ball including specialists who play no other position, get back to me.

I understand that, but it doesn't make them an awesome, unbeatable team. I'm sure you saw what happened a few weeks ago when some of their players were suspended (but yeah I know they still won games lol).
