good luck to all the teams, nice to meet some of you along the way. It's time for me to go, I am way to invested in caring about what others think. Got bigger fish to fry. DP, mike Salem you know how to get a hold of me.

He shall return sounds like Shaunty from a few back. Hammy I know you and I butted heads big time back a few years over Sherando but I think we came to neutral ground by agreeing to disagree haha

So I guess the messageboards will now just be about Salem and Louisa. That's sad.

Louisa with a chance at knocking off LT . If my memory serves me correctly Sherando went to Louisa and smacked them around.

I was just pointing out that most of the posts on these message boards tend to be about Salem, Louisa and Sherando. I was not suggesting anything positive or negative about their team's ability this year. There will now just be a lot fewer posts about Sherando.

Its a shame that adults cannot voice their opinions without being bashed into submission. I will readily admit the sarcasm can be enjoyable, but sometimes we all take things too personal and often go way to far. I really enjoy everyone's feedback and crave a sound debate on the topics at hand, but I honestly believe the personal attacks have cost this site a lot of good posters. Busting one another chops can be fun, but at the end of the day we all have something in common. Friday Night Lights! I am not lecturing, admonishing or asking anyone to do anything different we are all grown. I simply want to say Devils, OC Boy, Danville, Salem Mike, Hoos, Shanti, Hamspear, Good Old DP and the rest of the VA Preps gang make the strains of a very stressful job go away for a short while. Do I always like what I read? Heck no, but I keep coming back for more.

That's being said I will list my mid-season top four teams in the east and west with a few POSITIVE comments derived from some (notice I said some) personal observation, video, VA Prep rankings and discussions with others who have seen a particular team play. (No particular order)

East:
Lake Taylor-Great interior line play, sound running game and smothering defense.
Courtland- Sound running game, multiple weapons and improving defense.
Hanover-Heavy run oriented team. Big and physical.
Lafayette-Balanced attack on offense and strong linebacker play.

Outside looking in: Monacan (need their injured quarterback), Kings Fork (one dimensional with suspect defense) and Chancellor (Db's and defense looks a little shaky).

West:

Sherando-Very good defense with playmakers on offense.
Salem-Know how to win, sound running game and improving qb.
JF-Good running game and special teams play. Navy Jones....
John Champe-Sound in all phases of the game (could not get a lot of information on them).

Outside looking in: GW Danville (Have the athletes, but are virtually untested) and Pulaski (Big and physical. We shall see when they meet Salem).

Here is some information on John Champe. Hard-hitting! They hit so hard it will look illegal even when it isn't.
Thank you. Long way from Dinwiddie to Northwest VA to see live games. Couldn't even find video. Besides the posters, I know some guys up that way who say they are going to be a tough out. They sound like the 2013 Sherando team. Darn those guys could knock you out of your cleats. Thank the Lord Dinwiddie was extremely fleet footed. lol....

The quarterback for John Champe is a lot like the Hopewell quarterback, Cameren Hill, except much taller. So they have that going for them as well.

Hill is fun to watch, but a bit reckless. We pressured and hit Hill hard the entire first quarter. He never came back in the game. Look forward to seeing how the West plays out.

Maybe Hamspear left us to take part in the twitter war going on right now between Sherando and James Wood fans.

Haha, joking. Hope he comes back. I feel like I'll be the lone Sherando supporter here now, and I'm no Hamspear.

You're right Tim, this board shouldn't be about tearing other people down. We should be here to support our teams and other posters as well because we share the love of football. I think everyone should examine their motives for posting on this board. If your motivation is to bring others down, belittle, prop yourself up on the backs of others, go find another site to troll. We don't want it here, I have made many life long friends from this website who share a common passion. I hate that good people get driven away from the board over ignorance and basically back yard bullying. Act like you would if you were talking to them in person. Be respectful & courteous of other's opinions, we all have one. Golden Rule, any of these things ring a bell guys?

Do me a favor, I try to do it every time I post, go back read what you typed a time or too and if it seems harsh or unnecessarily rude, hit the backspace key till you get rid of the offensive material! We are all capable of making good choices be sure you've made them before you hit POST REPLY please and thank you!

I take exception to some of Navy's pics, but he is a far superior judge of football prowess than I am, or ever will be. And like he says, we don't get the first had chatter about a lot of the teams in the west, so we are making educated assumptions some times.

But, I second his message in the first part of his post. And let me add this, please. Seldom do any of us have a firsthand knowledge of what's going on in each other's lives. And when we do, we are bound by trust to keep private information private. Can't we all be considerate?

Think about it this way. I'm sure each of us have been faced with horrible news at times in our life. For instance, when I was told that my father had terminal lung cancer, I was in a daze for a couple of weeks. I probably pulled out in front of people, wandered into their lane, and maybe even ran a stop light or two. What this taught me was that the guy that just committed the same offense to me, may well be facing a similar crisis. I made up my mind that I would be tolerant of other's transgressions from that day forward. Am I going to ignor every tailhole that offends me, of course not. But I am going to at least slow down my judgement calls and overlook the minor things like petty rudeness, and in-attention. Because, at the end of the day, did it really matter anyway?

What I would hope everyone on this board would remember is that all of us have things going on in our everyday lives that stress us and shape the way we talk and correspond to others And yes, it takes place here on these boards as well. I've seen it more times than I care to remember, that members will take a strong stand and get a reaction from someone that is way out of proportion to what is called for. Then it degrades to personal attacks, inappropriate accusations, and just plain rudeness.

Another aspect that I hope all will consider is this. Many of us on here are professionals, business owners, or just are in the public eye in our jobs. When comments are made that are of a personal nature, they take on a life of their own. Suppose I made an accusation that John Doe was a child molestor. Once a comment like that is made, it can never be erased from anyone's memory. No matter how untrue, poor John Doe has that moniker associated with him forever. Think about this when you insinuate someone is a raciest. That follows them out into their world away from these boards. Things like this make darn good members decide that they can't risk the sullying of their reputation, so they leave the forum. Then we all lose.

I ask Rod to be quick to pull the trigger on any of us that is headed that way, especially if they have a history of crossing over to that type of behavior. And I ask each of you to do your part to admonish offenders in a manner that makes them understand that personally offensive attacks are not necessary, appreciated, nor tolerated.

Thank you all. DP

"BABY COME BACK YOU CAN BLAME IT ALL ON ME"!

This not intended to be sarcastic or derogatory. I value all opinions.

Schoolboard, if you can link any hudl of other clips, we would love to see some of what you stated. Everybody loves hard hits, except the guy receiving them, I guess?

I'm pretty sure I've seen this message from hamspear before. He'll be back.

Shruikan - you are not alone.
