Handley at Sherando

I figured as much but was hoping to see a good game. Not many good match ups in the bull run except clarke and mason

I know, I don't want to drive to Falls Church though, so I thought either JW at Skyline or Handley at Sherando. Maybe Strasburg game, but I saw them last week!

Anything can happen on Friday night, but some things are definitely more likely than others. To add some perspective, Sherando beat Jefferson (WV) 35-7 and it would have been a shutout minus a garbage time TD. Handley just lost 39-0 to that same Jefferson team.

That said, this is Handley's Super Bowl this year. I'm sure they'd love to knock off the Warriors.

Come out to Skyline. It will be beautiful here. The view and the weather at least.

Agreed there. If you haven't seen a game at Skyline before, the view is incredible. Best I've seen at any of the schools I've been to. Great football weather tonight too.

This game got ugly early. For as many steps as Millbrook took forward this year, Handley took double those back.

Game at Skyline turned out beautiful as well.

That pretty much ends James Wood's playoff hopes. I think they needed to win out. Was the Bishop injury bad? I heard he had to exit the game, but never got any more details.

Great win by Skyline.

Hard for me to tell from where I was located. If my notes are correct, it came on a 3 yard loss. Skyline had sacked the quarterback on first down, and then got great penetration on Bishop's run on 2nd down. The Skyline quarterback also went out with an injury later, and that one looked worse at first. He wasn't putting any weight on it when he finally hopped off, but then he spent most of the rest of the game with just ice wrapped around his knee and was standing on it. I could not see Bishop from where I was, so I don't know more about his injury.

The Winchester Star story says he was injured on the long run and fumble on the previous drive, and not on the play I said. Coincidentally, a James Wood fan yelled at me that the refs gave Skyline the game as he was leaving. He seemed to think Bishop was down before the fumble. There was no mention of any controversy over this in either of the newspaper game stories. The Winchester Star story had the wrong Skyline player throwing the winning conversion pass, though.
