Happy New Year to you as well buddy. Here is wishing everyone on Virginia Preps a very Happy New Year, 2017 !
May your favorite team be very successful and stay in good health throughout the New Year!
t has been floating around in these parts that Coach Fulks "Might" leave for a couple years now. So...it's not that big of a shock in this area when he resigned. Fulks will be missed. All around good guy. I wish him will with his future plans. As for who will be the new coach at Essex, I'm pretty much guessing 9 times out of 10 it will be Todd Jones the current AD. My stats might be off a little but he coached here at Essex for 14 seasons had a record of about 114-34 (give or take a game or 2), coached the Trojans to multiple district, regional championships. Made it to a few state semi games and 2 state championship games (2003 fell to Gate City & 2009 Beat Radford). After 2009 season, he move back home and became the head coach at Pulaski High for a few years and then in moved back to this area as the head coach of W&L in 2014-15. Came back to Essex as AD 2016 season. So... if Jones get the job, I don't think it's going to be to bad. He already know the players and what they are capable of.Essex Trojan, Your New Year has started off a little shaky with Coach Fulks retiring
At Essex High School. No doubt the man is a legend in the circle of football coaches
In Virginia, and his influence will be felt in the years to come. Now What?
In situations like this, did you folks see this coming? If so, Who would be on the current
Staff to take the reins and continue Trojan Football with the success you guys have
Enjoyed over the years?
Being from the Western part of Virginia, Coach Fulks was known down here as a great
Football Coach. To me, you don't " replace " a person like Coach Fulks. Very large shoes
To fill. Good luck on finding a person to lead the Essex football program. Essex has the
Athletes to be very competitive year in, and year out. You just have to get the right fit!
Best of luck to Essex High School, and to all Essex fans. God Speed, My Friend
