INBOX: Harrisonburg football coach Josh Carico has resigned after just one season on the job due to personal reasons. The search for a replacement is underway immediately. #VHSL https://t.co/FBxqYbTYDH

Begs the question, is there something wrong at Harrisonburg HS, that makes it difficult for a head coach to run a successful football program?

Interim as in until they can find a coach for this season or interim as in he will be the coach this season and they will look for a new one for 2022?

In my opinion, they have the best nickname in Virginia. Followed closely by the Truckers from Churchland.

I assume Harrisonburg has an old stadium? Is that why you enjoyed going there?

I love old high school stadiums that have a history. Hopewell has a really neat setting. Maury Stadium that James Monroe plays at is a great place. The Handley High School stadium is a place everyone should go see at least one game.

Seeing a game at Hurley is on my radar for this season. The Jungle and the Hole are on my bucket list, too.

As for Researcher's question, it did not say for how long, just that he was recently defensive coordinator at East Rock.

As for DP's question, actually it is a somewhat newer high school and stadium West of the old high school location, so that you would think it was a county school and not a city school due to rural nature. I guess I liked it because it was state-of-the-art and also the band performance at halftime was really outstanding. I used to go for Handley Harrisonburg games, which seemed to fall on the right Week,

As for Hopewell, I really liked the group of older men who all sit together on the visiting side. I showed up early and sat off by myself to take stats. Apparently I was sitting in their area, but they were very friendly and made the game more entertaining.

LOL, I might have been one of those "older" men!

My sidekick, Bleeding Navy and myself, usually assimilate into the crowd around us and have everyone talking and sharing stories everywhere we go. It's supposed to be fun..., so..., we have fun. And so help me God, if I went to Barrow Alaska to a game, Bleeding Navy will find someone he knows. It NEVER fails.

I heard their band is good. I appreciate a good band at halftime. Those kids practice their butts off to get good.

I had to laugh as we talk about the bands. Another of my very good friends, Clarkefan, always says he goes to the game just to see the band. And he is only half kidding. His daughter was a member of her high school band, so he still analyses the halftime shows like we analyze the game.

My son was pre-school/kindergarten age, and he only watched the band, not the football. At the time, they had an electric guitarist, which I think is really cool when mixed with the band, but some might not like that.

Harrisonburg hosting Handley on Skyline's open week if I am reading the master schedule correct. Might have to head on back.
