Hayfield back in the playoffs...maybe not

I don't see what joy one would get from recruiting an entire football team from out of your area, slapping your team colors on them, and having them go out every Friday night and drub schools who are playing only with kids from their district. That would feel absolutely empty to me. To say nothing of the effect it has on teams on the receiving end of this narcissistic power trip.
Well, that is the difference between your character and theirs.

I think for them, it would be the fact that they trained the players since they were kids. So in their eyes that’s “their kids.” Of course that doesn’t make it right.

Let's say you got a kid on the cusp of getting some big offers, but he's in a difficult situation at home, so he moves in with an aunt or uncle. No court ordered guardianship, but that's where he lives. Eligible or you gonna make him sit out? A lot of situations like that.

What if a kid is on a team, they get banned, it's not really his fault, so he tries to transfer, but it's not a bona fide permanent move? I could see that happening here.

Then some places you drive an hour up the road and it's open enrollment.

There are rules that make this possible.

But when you have more than two-dozen transfers on a team...and they're all freaking studs...that is quite different.

Says you....Happy Thanksgiving...I'll enjoy the spirit of a level playing field. Great athletes are found. They don't need to play on all-star teams to get noticed. All-star teams feed the egos of men/coaches that couldn't fulfill their dreams at a higher level...so they hide behind "helping these kids" bullshit battle cry....there...I said it...and I'll stand on it. If you can't build a winner with the kids that are in your school zone...you're a straw coach...FAKE.
Say it louder.

Sure. But the problem is how it's enforced. In NC, they would be ineligible. Because extreme hardship is not considered undue hardship. The whole family would have to move unless it's something like abandonment, imprisonment, mental health or that aunt or uncle would have to be the legal guardian. I don't know how it's enforced in VA, but I looked and it's written similarly. I've seen it enforced both ways. The kid is moving and it's approved.

I agree, two dozen transfers is excessive. My point is the rules will never be enforced evenly across the board. Player movement is going to vary from one place to another. Sometimes it's not even handled the same for different schools in the same district. Then some areas there's open enrollment or school choice.

That's why I say just let them go where they want.

Hayfield is not the only ones doing this either. They just the ones that got popped. There's more than a couple schools in VA that recruit from down here. From our state title teams. I know it for a fact. You know if they're doing that it's going on elsewhere. I would bet there's some nervous coaches and ADs reading these stories 😂

I can guarantee you there's a lot of AD's, Principal's and Coaches that are POURING over their paperwork making sure they're clean. Pandora's Box has been opened.
