Hey Hamspear. Did you see this?

Of course he is D1 stuff, and yes I was aware almost at the moment it happened . my son and him are like brothers for life. george will start at fullback for Pitt next week as a redshirt freshman, worked hard and has always worked hard to achieve his goal. The best football player to ever play at Sherando, maybe it's close. But His coach said that he has only seen about 14 players in his life that he thought could play in the NFL, and George is at the top of the list.Good luck George, hard work pays off.

Best player ever at Sherando was kelly Washington by a long shot. He was before coach Hall got there. George is a great player but no where close to Kelly's level.

hard to argue against Kelly being the best , he was a different kind of player and a great athlete. I don't think it by a long shot, but Kelly was more impactful on Offense, where as George was dominant on both sides of the ball. but Kelly was a great player, no doubt.

I don't have a clue about Kelly Washinton, but if Sherando had a tougher, more determined player than George Aston, he should have been "All World" in college!

Kelly played for Sherando the first couple years the school opened in 95-96 , Sherando got trounced by a superior talented Amherst team in the state final. He then went to play college football at Tennessee , then played in the NFl for years. With the bengals, ravens Patriots, might have missed a few teams haha. He was a great athlete, very fast , was a WR in the nfl. George is a totally different type of player, true grit, physical, feels no pain, and never quits. Both great players.

Laugh with me on this one.

I just Googled Kelly Washington. If nothing else, the girls picture that came up made her a hell of a lot better looking than ole George Aston. I'm not sure was a better football player, but she got my vote!

Then I went back, spelled his first name correctly, and added "football player" behind his name, I pulled up the real Kelley Washington. Pretty darn good credentials, I'll admit.

YES I did , sounds like JM is going to have a great 3A season the rest of the year, and your guys offense WOW! Who puts up 40 plus on JM on this early in the season. Thanks for the text, we kept missing each other last night and today

Yeah, darn work and stuff getting in the way of my football. Something's gotta go. Going to miss my job!

Has anybody talked Hoos down off the ledge yet?

Hey, and Hoos. The grandmother driving one of the JM busses said she loved taking her grand kids to the Jungle. The fireworks were the big reason. But she just loves going to a game there.

And one last tale from a JM person. He was telling me how they made arrangements to have the game ball parachuted in at the pregame ceremony. Then, the opponent won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. They took the kickoff and ran virtually un-touched the length of the field for a TD. He was only half joking when he said half his players were still looking up for another parachutist. Needless to say, Coach Serbay was heard to say that that stunt would never be repeated!
Incidentally, JM went on to win that game.
