If a PAT is blocked in high school but it did not go past the LOS after being blocked:

1. Is it automatically a dead ball?
2. Can the kicking team pick it up and run it into the end zone

I know that the defensive team cannot advance the ball. I believe on a FG the kicking team can advance the ball(Lake Taylor vs Monacan 2014) if it does not go past the LOS.

PAT is dead as soon as it's blocked.

Field goal attempts are not dead -- they are the same as punts. If blocked the ball is alive. If it's behind the LOS, it can be recovered and advanced by either team. That's what happened in the Lake Taylor game in '14.The kicker picked up the ball and walked right past the celebration the receiving team was enjoying.

Past the LOS, the kicking team can recover but it's dead at that spot.
