I just think Galax is head and shoulders better than anyone in region D. Not trying to knock region D, just stating the obvious, region D has been down across the board for the most part for several years now. I think its over in the 1st quarter.Galax 56-7
He does seem like a good dual threat, but that’s a big statement as best west of Appomattox. I think Galax has a QB that might have something to say about that. Does anyone know what grade he is in?I know a bunch about Galax, but little about Holston other than the two schools are separated only by 64 miles. Because Galax has been there and done that makes them the fashion pick, but a couple things. Galax lost Dixon to Pulaski. Galax is still very well coached and has talent, but Dixon was a solid loss and it's tough to lose a coach like that and not miss a beat. Also, I understand the QB from Holston may not just be the best in his local area, but he may be the best High School QB at Any level west of Appomattox VA in the state of Virginia. From what I've read on swvasports, the accolades for this kid are that high and he is supposed to be that good and that kind of game changer. Calpreps projects the score as 35-19 in favor of Galax.. That's not really a bunch of points and not nearly what I think many would have suspected going just by name recognition. The Galax vs Holston game I think, will be closer than the Galax vs Narrows margin of victory. Holston may win the game.
Agree and on the Holston QB, I have not seen the kid. I am only reporting some of the accolades about this kid on swvasports. It's very lofty to say the kid might best High School QB west of Appo considering the likes of Galax, Graham, Tazewell, Abingdon, Union's QB and many others, but evidently, the kid is the real deal.He does seem like a good dual threat, but that’s a big statement as best west of Appomattox. The Holston QB may be as good as advertised, I have not seen him , but I know he hasnt faced a defense like he will be seeing in Galax. Holston has zero chance to win unless covid rears its ugly head again and decides the outcome.I know a bunch about Galax, but little about Holston other than the two schools are separated only by 64 miles. Good question. If I’m not mistaken we are the only ones playing on Friday.Does anyone know why the Galax-Holston state semifinal game is being played on Friday instead of Saturday?
Was told Holston asked VHSL permission to play on Friday night and it was granted. Not sure why they wanted it Friday night but if Galax wins it just gives us extra day to rest and get ready for the state championship.Does anyone know why the Galax-Holston state semifinal game is being played on Friday instead of Saturday?

Max preps has the QB from Holston listed as a senior. Can anyone confirm?
