With Yorks defense and Poquoson having their best squad since their state championship team a few years back they will have trouble. Bethel aint that good to go scoreless on. Makes me wonder how poor Heritage NN may be. The Magna Vista team with everyone from last year back would be too much for them in their current state.
I think there's a few old AA teams, see Salem, who could handle Phoebus, but agree that there's probably not a lot. In 3A right now, I think it's pretty wide open after Magna Vista, but I don't see another team I'd put ahead of the Phantoms. I'd love to see James Monroe vs. Phoebus in the playoffs. That's two legendary teams right there. The downfall of Phoebus is grossly overstated. They have plenty of players and have yet to lose to anyone that was AA before the realignment. The only teams they have lost to were all AAA teams that were playing up. I don't even think they have someone that is currently 3a on their schedule and I seriously doubt that tabb, York, poquoson etc. pose a threat. Of course they aren't as dominant but I don't think any of the old AA teams can compete with them.
I might agree with you on manga vista but not poquoson or York.
I wouldn't count out Northside, I think they'll be around in late November, early December to have a say in 3a.I think there's a few old AA teams, see Salem, who could handle Phoebus, but agree that there's probably not a lot. I am not concerned with Phoebus- they are in my Tidewater area and the games result was quite astonishing so I commented on it. Lafayette and Williamsburg have come along way since the PD days, 15 years ago. Three high schools now and some nice wins. You say it's a long way to any meeting with LT and why worry now- take one game at a time? Then why concern yourself with Phoebus, a program you have no possibility of playing this year. Lafayette had their chance when they were once a PD doormat team. You can't have it both ways.
I'm not concerned because
1. We're now 2-0.
2. Bethel has a very good defense and have traditionally been one of our toughest games every year.
3. I believe in the Phoebus program to restore dominance soon.

You're not concerned with Phoebus? Then what's the purpose of this entire thread that you created? Smh, if you recall on another board by my same screen name i showed Lafayette a level of respect even after losing to Magna Vista last year. I even went as far as to say that your Lafayette Rams would have beaten my Phoebus Phantoms last year. So come on Man, focus on the D4 teams you'll be playing. Phoebus is not thinking about Lafayette or anybody else except our next opponent.I am not concerned with Phoebus- they are in my Tidewater area and the games result was quite astonishing so I commented on it. You mean no one can post any thoughts here except in the division of the team they follow???

I think my reply did not make the first time, but who says one cannot post a comment except in the division of the team they primarily follow? That seems ludicrous to me.
I would certainly hope that a team with their talent base and history in 5A wouldn't lose to old 3A teams. Be no different than Salem dropping to A and not romping through the schedule.
Well anybody can lose no matter the division. We were once one of if not the smallest school in Division 5 and were destroying programs in Division 6. We'd play live game scrimmages with Oscar Smith to a stand still year in and out. We realize that there will be great expectations on us moving down divisions. It wasn't our choice to move down but we respect all teams in Division 3 and look forward to the challenge.
Amazing he expectations of some people. Had this conversation tonight we beat a team 38-0 hold them to negative yards yet people are unimpressed or have comments to make because I guess they wanted us to put up 90 points. If Phoebus doesn't win it all in 3A they will come pounding their chest talking about how they took down big bad Phoebus when in all actuality its a game that kids play and on any given night anyone can win. SMH
Thank you! And to be honest, if it hadn't been for Phoebus, Lake Taylor probably wouldn't be where they are now. It took having to get past Phoebus in order to elevate LT to a much higher level just as the Hampton Crabbers did for Phoebus in years past. The scary part is Phoebus is rebuilding quickly (yes I said rebuilding and not reloading) and the future looks very bright. Head Coach Jeremy Blunt is doing a great job in keeping the program clean and out of trouble and now they are learning how to restore the stingy defense that Phoebus once had.
Did you ever graduate from High school??!It's evident that you are not paying attention to your posts. You created this thread and then keep making comments about Phoebus and then turn around and say that you're not concerned with Phoebus and that you're worried about you're next game. Ok let's look at the title of this topic "How About Those Phoebus Phantoms"....... Really Dude or Dudette? You can't have it both ways. And sure you have a right to post on any division forums. I just don't see myself or any other Phantom fans being too concerned about posting a topic on Lafayette.
Did you ever make it to HIGH SCHOOL?Did you ever graduate from High school??!
Just wondering if you were going to also quote the other post in the thread from the same day when i said I agree that magna vista could be the one.I would say that Magna Vista marked that off the list.
I know. Congrats on another great win. I love how physical your team has played in the two times I have seen them. I expect a title next week. Good luck.Just merely stating that this is a box that MV has now checked off. Nothing more or less.
