HSHS 53 Herm 0 Halftime

At times, Hermitage's defense looked decent. They could not get any offense of any kind going against the Springers' defense. Even as the score was so lopsided, HS had too many miscues on offense to make the staff happy, I know!! THERE IS WORK TO BE DONE! This team has the capability of being ranked very high nationally. They need to clean up a few things to be that! With that said, I don't think there is a team in the Central Region that can come close to the talent and strengths of this team. Probably not in the state. Hermitage on the other hand, I think they are in for a long season that ends short.

Congrats Springer. I dont care who coached Hermitage tonight they were taking an ass whooping I still dont get the hire or hype with Johnson. Nothing personal against the guy. I just dont get his game plans and play calling. Hermitage should have hired Jennings. The friend thing never works. See LC Bird last season.

Nothing personal to anyone, but we're on a different mission as a program. It's bigger than any of us involved with program personally but all about da kids that come thru our program.

I was trying to find the positives in previous posts but in our 3-way scrimmage with Hopewell and Herm... it seemed Hermitage was throwing darts at the side of a barn offensively. Just trying to find something that would work for them. I expect that with a new coach... but they don’t have an identity offensively or even a go-to at this point. I hope they can right the ship and win a few in the Colonial. Wouldn’t it be the ultimate irony if they had to go to HSHS in November as the 5a 8 seed? I could actually see that happening as I think they will find an identity or at least a go-to offensive scheme.

I don't care who the opponent is or what kind of mission HS is on, could you see a Kane coached team losing 67-0? Amazing how one coaching change can bring a program from perennial championship contention to irrelevance so quickly.

Bingo! Kane would not have been beaten this badly, nor wouls his studs tramsferred.

I understand it was the worst defeat in Hermitage history.
I will tell you what I think, the new coach has some time to "right the ship" this year. Give it 3 years or so, if they are not in winning form, he's history.

Herm is one of the largest schools in the RVA area. for years they were mediocre in both football and basketball. Folks were scratching their heads as to why. Turns out a coaching change was needed. It is only one game but I hope they are not falling back into old habits.

I am still waiting for the basketball break through.

I personally thought that Matoaca played mediocre football under Johnson. They seemed to go down hill when he coached. Just my opinion. I cant even imagine any team losing that bad under Kane.

I live in Charlotte, NC now but am a 1970 graduate of Hermitage. To the best of my knowledge, they've never really had a basketball breakthrough

my point exactly
they have enough kids walking around the halls to be a force every year.
Same was true of Henrico until they got the right coach.
