Rivals.com 3-star Markel Dabney is one of the top available recruits of the 2026 class. He was an All-Region selection at Linebacker after recording 35 solo tackles (74 total) with four sacks, and two pick six touchdowns. On offense, Dabney had 45 receptions for close to 1000 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had over 20 D1 offers but narrowed the list down to SMU. Penn State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Pittsburgh.

Jaedyn Johnson-Lee (6-foot-3, 234) plays multiple positions but is being recruited as a Defensive End. He has offers from Charlotte, Hampton, and Marshall and he has interests from Old Dominion, James Madison, East Carolina, and Louisville.

The Falcons add All-State performer Malik Porter (6-foot-175) to the roster. He had six interceptions while adding 10 pass breakups and 36 tackles at Thomas Jefferson. Porter was selected All-State for Punt Returner and All-Region at Defensive Back. He has offers from East Carolina University and Bluefield State.

2027

I was at the 1st game Huguenot receiver Iveon Lewis played and he simply had four touchdown receptions and 135 yards receiving. Last season, he finished with 45 receptions for 1069 yards and 14 touchdown receptions. He earned 2nd team All-State at receiver. His more than 20 offers includes Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Florida State, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. Although, he wasn't in the initial Rivals.com 2027 Top 5 for Virginia, there is no doubt he should be now lower than two.

Safety Zayvon Miller was All-Region as a sophomore. He was credited with 50 tackles, nine pass breakups and two interceptions. Miller has over a dozen offers including offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Florida State and South Carolina.

Jayce Bigelow (6-foot-0, 205) flew on my radar in a game featuring two Power D1 linebackers. Bigelow was my Defensive MVP after making 12 tackles with a sack and a blocked extra point. He finished the season with 75 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and five sacks. Bigelow has an offer from Syracuse and East Carolina proving he is also a Power 4 linebacker.

Linebacker Romelo Perry (6-foot-0, 190) was selected 2nd team All-Region after recording 101 tackles including 14 tackles for loss. Perry has offers from Charlotte, Liberty, and East Carolina.

Randal Robinson Jr (5-foot-7, 165) will take over the primary running back spot and he will try to assume the production of Howard commit John Washington who topped 1315 yards with 15 touchdowns. Robinson chipped in 377 yards on 38 carries with five touchdowns.

2028

Rising sophomore Charles Scott Jr will be one the top quarterback recruits in the 2028 class before all is said and done. Last year Scott shared time with senior Linwood Johnson who committed to Roanoke College. He completed 60 of 93 passes for 1075 yards and 13 touchdowns. Scott has a howitzer for an arm and throws with accuracy and power. He places his deep post passes on tar get and can zip in the intermediate throws. Scott has offers from Virginia Tech, Syracuse and SMU but his favorite offer might be from his dream school Florida State.

Coach Scott is excited about two freshmen who look to make a leap in their sophomore seasons. Jhamari Cain (6-foot-1, 170) had five receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns in limited action last season. Tyrone Miller (6-foot-0, 160) had three receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown in 2024.
