Flint Hill ace Robert Riddick tossed six innings of shutout ball in helping the Huskies to a 2-0 win over Westfield. The Virginia Tech commit struckout out nine batters while allowing only one hit; a double from Robert Hahne in the 1st inning. Liberty University commit Khalil Lee added two more strikeouts in the 7th inning to earn the save.
Brett Briglia and Justin Taylor factored in on both Flint Hill runs. Briglia reached on an infield single to leadoff the 1st and scored on a sacrifice fly from Taylor. In the 5th inning, Briglia singled with two and scored easily when Taylor smashed a double to left field. Briglia finished the afternoon going 2 of 3 from the plate with two runs scored. Taylor went 2 for 2 with two RBI. Lee reached base all three times after getting hit by two pitches and hitting a single in the 1st inning.
Westfield pitcher Elliott McKee had a fine outing but took the loss after throwing five innings. He allowed five hits and two runs.
