7 or 8, realistically.Thanks....just was wondering where Giles would probably end up....they lost 3 tight questionable games and have made some changes and gotten healthy....I think they could play with anyone....
Yep. Giles and M'ville may tie, in the case, Giles would be the 7. You'd get the Bulldogs in that case.If its like u shook it up Ryan. would that mean we would play Giles if we beat Amherst and both get past 1st round?
Let's say Appomattox loses to Amherst....how's this shake up things...will graham jump to the #1 seed....just talk some possibilities since Appomattox has a tough game and Richlands has a bye...what's the scenarios
Top 4 is going to be interesting. Graham is going to be #1 or #2 depending on Appo. Grundy losing to Ridgeview hurt Richlands, and it may come down to Va High as to whether Richlands is #2 or #4 in a battle of 9-1 teams.Let's say Appomattox loses to Amherst....how's this shake up things...will graham jump to the #1 seed....just talk some possibilities since Appomattox has a tough game and Richlands has a bye...what's the scenarios
Head to head would break that tie breaker I would assumeTop 4 is going to be interesting. Graham is going to be #1 or #2 depending on Appo. Grundy losing to Ridgeview hurt Richlands, and it may come down to Va High as to whether Richlands is #2 or #4 in a battle of 9-1 teams.
Appo will be #1 if they are 10-0, but them beating Amherst could impact Dan River's being the #3 or #4 seed.
Given the following games. Winner is in bold.
Appomattox - Buckingham/Prince Edward, Rustburg/EC Glass,Heritage/Liberty
Dan River - MagnaVista/GW(Danville) ,Bartlett Yancey/Graham(NC), Tunstall/Bassett, Martinsville/Patrick Co, Appo/Amherst
Richlands - Graham/Narrows, Va High/Lee, Union/Battle, Marion/Abingdon
1.) Appomattox 10-0 288 28.8
2.) Graham 9-1 279 27.9
3.) Richlands 9-1 271 27.1
4.) Dan River 9-1 270 27
Same games with Appo losing to Amherst
1.) Graham 9-1 279 27.9
2.) Richlands 9-1 271 27.1
3.) Appomattox 9-1 269 26.9
4.) Dan River 9-1 269 26.9
I have NO idea who wins the tiebreakers.
For Dan River and Appomattox, but what happens if Va High loses to Lee? Who wins the tiebreaker with Richlands? Name out of a hat? It may get screwy. Lol.Head to head would break that tie breaker I would assume
Union v. Gate City in first round?!? That might be worth the 6 hour or so ride.
I agree. A rematch will probably not be as close as the earlier game. Glenvar is probably a better draw for GC than Union except that they are an unfamiliar opponent. Glenvar is not as good as last year, but they are stilll a very strong team.If Va High beats Lee this Friday then GC will face Glenvar instead of Union. I don't forsee GC playing Union as close a 2nd time around. The Devils played pretty well the first meeting......Union just has too many weapons I think for them to pull the upset. I think if they face off again it will be a 14-17 pt game in Unions favor. Hope I'm wrong....would love to see GC get at least one win in the playoffs after starting out 0-5 this season.
Wonder how GC and Glenvar would match up? Would it be better for GC to draw Union or Glenvar? I don't really know what all Glenvar has.

Coinflip? I'm not sure lol. That is a crazy way to settle a tie.For Dan River and Appomattox, but what happens if Va High loses to Lee? Who wins the tiebreaker with Richlands? Name out of a hat? It may get screwy. Lol.

Only if I get to go first!Rochambeau should be the only way to settle a tie.
Gate City actually faced Glenvar in the jamboree at Graham. Glenvar won 12-7. That's the scrimmage Collier hurt his ankle. GC took the ball down and scored in 7 plays on the opening drive. But Glenvar answered then GC had a fumble in their own territory that set up a quick Glenvar score. Collier went down with the ankle injury then we went flat. Would be a good matchup I believe.
They got a new kicker a couple of weeks ago too. I hear she is pretty good.I believe glenvar had 7 or so starters suspended that day. That's what I was told anyway. It looks like they're playing much better now.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I wouldn't rely on any thing from a scrimmage in August for many reasons. Pretty much worthless information. Glenvar had four or five of it's top players out in that one and teams are usually much different by the end of the season.Gate City actually faced Glenvar in the jamboree at Graham. I agree. I was really replying to obguthr. It wasn't 6-7. It was more like five players that missed the scrimmage. I hope we played GC. That would be a welcome change from playing Giles like we have the last few years. Looks more and more like a Giles/Glenvar game wouldn't happen until a regional semi or state championship final.Trust me, I have played enough ball and watched enough ball to know that. I was just stating a fact that GC and Glenvar got to see each other this summer. Because some people might of not known that. Gate City is certainly not the same team they were at the first of August as I'm sure Glenvar isn't either. Teams get better and find their true identity. GC's main offensive package isn't even the same as it was Week 0.
