As many of you may know I am passionate about sports vision training. Last week I was talking to a local high school football coach and he was not convinced that working the muscles of the eyes was beneficial.
I asked him if he had ever driven a car for several hours and arrived at his destination bone tired. I then asked why, you are sitting the whole time barely moving your arms so why are you so tired? During your trip your eyes are moving constantly and the brain is processing all the information that the eyes take in, that is why you feel wore out after the trip.
It is the same thing on the athletic field. The eyes are constantly moving and the brain is constantly at work. The stronger the ocular muscles the less fatigued the athlete will be and the more efficient the brain works, the quicker and more accurate the response will be.
