I know now that Football season is over and we've moved into the Winter sports session most everyone is focused on the basketball season (some of us sooner than others) LOL... However, there is still Indoor Track and obviously the upcoming Spring Outdoor sports Track & Field (Throwers). Last year, "The Blues" only had one competitive thrower (Sophomore) competing in the Indoor session and as we all know there were three that competed in the Spring session of Outdoor Track & Field in which all three finished in the top 5 in the state in Shot-Put... K J Cook (then Jr) finished 2nd behind Auburn's Taylor Naff (then Sr.), Jeremy Nelson (then Jr.) took 3rd and Josh Fischer finished it out with a respectable 4th (then Soph).. At the end of the State meet, after all the numbers were calculated it was determined that all three of the" Blues Throwers" would have also finished in the same identical order had they competed at the 2A level, only behind James River's Michael Albert (a then Senior, now at Appalachian State on a T&F Scholarship).. This year all three "Blues Brothers" will be competing in both the Indoor and Outdoor sessions as Shot Throwers and Cook (State Meet Winner last year) and Fischer (7th) will again compete near the top in Discus in the Outdoor session as it looks to be a "shootout" between all three of the "Blues Brothers" .. My question is, does anyone know of or have any input (as far as the competition outlook) for the upcoming session of Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field, I know there is some competition out there, I personally haven't heard much from other Schools, Districts.. Just curious. Thoughts???
