It looks like the weather will improve enough to get in the usual four-game slate Tuesday night, but unlike Friday night's games, this time I only see one competitive game with the other three more likely to be runaways. Also this will be one of those nights in which all four games will feature an Augusta County team battling one from up north. This slate of games will complete the first cycle through district play, other than maybe a make-up game here and there.

To get the snoozers out of the way:

Wilson at East Rock: Part of a boy/girl doubleheader I understand, but the girls game might be the highlight of the night as the Eagle boys should be able to name their score against Wilson.

Stuarts Draft at Luray: I personally am still in shock over the beatdown the Cougars laid on Page Friday night. So I guess that moves them into second place for the moment and might actually make their home game with East Rock rather interesting, whenever it happens, despite how their first match-up turned out. But we will cross that bridge when we get to it.....barring a complete collapse, this one up in Bulldog Country should be another will-they-or-won't-they hit triple digits game for the visitors.

Buffalo Gap at Page: Of the three "snoozers" as I call them, this one might have the best chance to actually be a game, but I doubt it. BG doesn't have the horses to play Page's style, and we can also assume the Panthers will have something to prove after Friday night's debacle. The Bison might be able to hang around for a while but I doubt it.

That leaves Stonewall at Riverheads as the only game that looks on paper as if it could be close and it is also the only one of the four being hosted by a county team. The Generals appear to be greatly improved this year and have probably already done enough to guarantee that they will not finish in the cellar this year. Riverheads on the other hand got off to a great start, winning at Fort Defiance and Buffalo Gap, but the Big Red has struggled since then, and lost a heartbreaker at Wilson Friday night. With a win in this one, RHS would be 5-5 on the season and a favorable schedule would give them a good chance at a winning season, but yet another loss might be hard for such a young team to handle. One thing is for sure, a team that likes red will win this one!!!
