Western is looking to rebound after it's two losses to two very good teams in Lord Botetourt and Collegiate, and get back on track. Powhatan has deeply disappointed this year, with losses to Midlothian and Caroline. Expect Western to come out firing. Western 38-13.
#22 Charlottesville 4A (2-1) @ Orange County 5A (2-1)
This is the exact same situation as last year when these two teams met. At Porterfield Park. Homecoming for Orange. The Hornets came out and thrashed the Black Knights 48-14. This year, Charlottesville is eager to redeem itself. It's offense has been all but impossible to stop lately, but the defense let up 35 points to Harrisonburg. Meanwhile, Orange rebounded from it's loss to Eatern View nicely by lighting up the scoreboard. Look for Orange QB Kenyon Carter to have some really big plays. Still, Charlottesville is on a mission this year. Charlottesville 38-33.
#25 Albemarle 5A (1-2) @ #10 Louisa County 4A (3-0)
Last year, Louisa blew by the Patriots at the jungle. Now we're back in Mineral again, and this time Albemarle is even more down after their heart-braking loss to Patrick Henry Roanoke. The Lions have been on a roll recently, and if Bell is fully healthy, that could spell doom for Albemarle. J'Quan Anderson is still trying to find himself fully. Louisa 35-21.
Fluvanna County 3A (2-1) @ #9 Monticello 3A (3-0)
Monticello has been thrashing opponent left and right. Fluvanna got two wins, and is looking to open some eyes in JD play. Still, I don't see much excitement in this matchup. Monticello QB Kevin Jarrell will keep finding receivers and run the ball (he had 5 TDs against Spotswood). Monticello 52-8.
