Finally got to see him in person and 1st I'll say he seems like a great well mannered kid got to shake his hand and tell him how much of a fan I am from a far. Look this kid is the real deal. He can make every throw and he is extremely accurate. I saw him look off coverage I saw him fit balls into tight coverage I saw him throw with touch and I saw him throw missiles when he had too. This game with Buckingham is everything a great player like him needed because it wasn't easy for him and we did things on defense that he probably hadn't seen. But he rose to the occasion and showed how great he really is. UVA and VT should be waiting outside of his house everyday. He will play on Saturdays and I see him playing on Sundays some day. Again congrats to Richlands as a program and best of luck to John Luke...he made me a believer.

Great kid, GREAT arm, very nimble. Only negative I saw in the Union game was trying to force a few passes that led to INTs. No doubt he is probably the best QB in 2A, Although Spears at Union is very good as well.

I was told by some of your fans last night that Union's starting QB didn't play against y'all is that true?

Yea I believe Spears played, but one of their better wide receivers and playmakers didn't play.......his name is Nokes I believe.

I believe John-Luke has really improved over the last 5 games, not to imply that he wasn't pretty good early in the season. He seems to be reading the coverages extremely well, and most of his incompletions the last few games have occurred due to dropped passes....not that there have been a ton of them.

I want to see how he handles pressure, the games I saw on video, there wasnt any pressure. I think bucktown got in there one time and hit him hard from the back and caused a fumble. Other than that, he rarely had to move. The kid is good, but its easy to hit targets when you dont have to move. Its like 7 on 7 football for him from the video footage I have seen. that line protects him well. His best asset is accuracy, but another is the time it takes him getting it out of his hand, 2 or 3 seconds and its out. Not taking nothing from him, Luke is going to be a great QB on the next level, but he will definitely see pressure at the next level. I HOPE HE WLL SEE IT SATURDAY! lol *crossing fingers*

you just couldn't help yourself...could you?

I don't think you can shake him, we were in his face a few times and he stood tall and delivered. We forced him to throw into tight windows for the most part and he delivered. He handles pressure by avoiding it with quick decision making and getting it out before the pressure gets there. He doesn't want to get hit and he protects himself by getting rid of the ball because without him on the field that's a totally different team and I know he and his coaches understand that. He answered all my questions he knows where go with the ball and how to look coverage off receivers and come back to them. The kid is the total package and its hard to game plan for everything he is capable of doing. If Richlands get more out of their ground game Saturday it could lead to a long day for the Raiders, but I don't see them having success against the Raiders in that department but John Luke is and all around QB. The boy can f*#$ing ball!

East Rock's QB was pretty darn impressive in the two games I saw this year.

Actually.......the one fumble was due to a low snap that John-Luke had a hard time handling. A Buckingham player hit him as he was trying to regain control, and another Buckingham player picked it up and ran it in for the score.

I cant comment on that, did not see him play. He very well may be, I have only saw the QBs on Unions schedule, and Asbury was clearly the best we played although Collier at GC and the Central QB were very good athletes, Asbury was the best pure passer of them all.

BC, Im sure John Luke gonna come with some fire, but hopefully the Raiders can get him out of his element. I seen where he was scared to throw at ragland's side with #11, he focused on #3 and #15. Im sure he will try to use #11 this game and by the mouth of Ragland, "that is the best receiver they got." Im not taking nothing from him, I just want to see him work with pressure on him. I dont say that as undermining his ability. I say that because I want to see it.

Just because he said 11 was the best wr(which I believe he has the highest ceiling) doesn't mean that 15 and 3 were slouches. 15 owned the db trying to defend him and ran over Ragland when he was trying to deliver a big hit on him. 3 out ran all of the secondary of BC. There are two other WRs not mentioned that can score and run great routes, #5 has breakaway speed. It's hard to get pressure spread out and he gets the ball out in 3 seconds or less

They went at Ragland but I think it was mostly to make him work and try to tire him which in a sense worked for them. #11 and #15 are legit receivers but the slot guys are who really killed us because they opened the offense up. Like I said this offense is very good. We held the outside down enough to get them off the field but the slot guys got the ch.ains moving. Second half the run that nobody saw coming worked perfect and the fake draw on 3rd and 21 was a back breaker. The sequence before half time and our offensive strategy that I never saw before in the second half was the difference. Even so at 9mins left in fourth we had the ball at their 17 yrd line 1st and 10 and threw 3 straight passes, a score there changes the game. They are as good as advertised but with the outside receivers they have its the slot guys that got them going.

You are right, you try to take something away and he is able to pice somewhere else to go. It is very rare to have this many talented WRs on the same team with a qb that can throw. It is also equally rare to have 5 DBs that can cover and have been tested as well. Appomattox may have the DBs but from the videos I saw, the teams were running teams that down throw or doesn't really have a qb that can sit down and pick a team apart. The game will be decide in the trenches just like most. If appomattox can get pressure without having to bring an extra player they will have the advantage, if they can't and JLA has time, it will be a long night for them.

That's the beauty of having 5 WRs and a TE that can all make big plays. If the outside two get shut down, the inside guys step up, and vice versa. And we didn't even try to pass to our TE.

#11 has good height and speed and is great after the catch but doesn't have the greatest hands on the team. Has dropped more passes than any of the other receivers although he has seen more targets.

#15 may be the best but the slot guys are the ones that gets the ball rolling.

Yea BC he ( Landon Lowe ) is a man, and he is really athletic to be as big as he is. He has great hands and will catch anything that is thrown his way and can run better than anyone would think for a man his size. Sometimes they put him in the backfield when we want to use the power game.
I hope they use him more this week as a pass catch catcher because when he catches the ball he is such a load to bring down. I was very surprised that they didn't use him more last week.

I think they kept him in to block Michael Mabry I don't think there were anybody on your line that could block him 1 one 1. I tell you what Appomattox has man on both side of the ball too in # 8 Markese. Big boy my brother married his cousin and we were side by side at the wedding and he is every bit of 6-5 260 and not a lot of body fat either.

Marquise is like a son to me. Me and his dad are great friends. I just showed my wife ya post. She said she helped the wedding official in that wedding. U must be talking about Latoia? Marquise is a great football player but basketball, he is unreal.

Yeah Latoia married my oldest brother Antonio... Small world ain't it lol?
Such a good kid, love him! Great attitude, never seen the kid mad. This kid is probably one of the most improved players on the team. Last year he didnt have that INTENSITY that he has this year. Got great hands, will catch 95% of balls coming his way.

I'm glad to see the weather looks decent for Saturday. Sixty degrees and only 20% chance of rain. I'm not very interested in seeing how John-Luke can perform in adverse weather conditions.......especially in a game as tough to predict as this one.
