Game Recap Kecoughtan Warms Up to Defeat Stone Bridge

Kecoughtan arrive just a few minutes before the start of their Virginiapreps.Com Classic showdown against Stone Bridge and it took them a half to warm up. However, the Warriors found their mark in the 3rd quarter and they went on to an easy 73-61 win.

After scoring only 20 points in the 1st half, the Warriors exploded for 32 points in the 3rd quarter while outscoring Stone Bridge by 20 to lead 52-31 after three quarters.

Kecoughtan scored most of their points in the paint on layups while Stone Bridge went the long distance route by attempting 31 shots from downtown. Almost half of the Bulldogs 22 field goals (10) came from behind the 3-point line. Kecoughtan was 5 of 8 from behind the arc.

Marion Moore scored 23 points and added 14 rebounds to lead the Warriors. Bryant Randleman and Jarod Thorpe both were in double figures with 18 and 15 respectively. Randleman also had 11 rebounds, six assists, two treys, and two blocks. Thorpe was 3 of 5 from 3-point range.

Stone Bridge was led by Evan Buckley who tied the Virginiapreps.Com Classic 3-point record with five treys. Buckley had 28 points - 21 in the fourth quarter alone - and four assists. Ben Kling added 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists. The two combined for seven steals.
