While things didn't go their way today, I'd like to recognize the achievements of this Tiger senior class. Beginning their freshman season, King and Queen had only won 9 games in the previous 10 seasons. Fast forward to now and this senior class has won 34 games included in that is an abbreviated sophomore season because of Covid. They also made it to three straight regional championship games and put King and Queen football back on the map. For many, many years, King and Queen was who everyone tried to schedule for homecoming, but that's no longer the case. I know I'll miss out on some names and it's not on purpose, but to Malik Holmes, Kam Berry, Jorden Johnson, Tyquan Speight, Jaden Stanley, Elijah Boone and the rest of the King and Queen senior class, thank you for the last 4 years.

With that said, the cupboard isn't completely bare at King and Queen. They return 3 starting linemen and have some very good sophomores who already have 2 years of starting experience. Lastly, congrats to Coach Dehart, Coach Dabney and the rest of the Tiger coaching staff on a great season.

I believe they had 12 or 13 seniors, some of whom were 4 year regulars. Gotta give some credit to Kenny Waters who was the head coach who got it going. He took over a program that had 0 wins the previous two seasons. Won just once his first, but snagged 8 wins when this group of seniors were freshmen. DeHart came in and took the program to tremendous heights with 3 consecutive regional final appearances.
Plus let's not forget the dedication of assistant coaches such as Michael Dabney and Kenny Briddell. And on top of that K&Q is either the smallest VA public school that plays 11-man football or is the next to the smallest. There is not even an incorporated town in the entire county. is Walkerton the largest "place" in the county is is that Newtown?

Yes, Kenny is one of my closest friends and he got the ship started in the right direction. Holmes freshman year he had 2500 yards passing and over 30 tds under Kenny. As for biggest town, I'm not sure. Only about 7k people in the entire county
