Rematch of their suspended game from late September. It's almost fitting that these two teams get to play in the regional championship. For Essex, they're used to being in this game, and expect to. For King and Queen, this is their second consecutive regional championship appearance. In the suspended game, it was a slugfest with Essex leading 7-6 late in the 3rd quarter, but KQ driving and was on the Essex 30. Since then, Essex has pretty much changed offenses, going from a double wing run heavy team, to now running a spread offense with a more balanced look. The King and Queen defense has played extremely well all season, except for the KW game where they gave up 38. A big key in my opinion is how KQ will defend stud WR Kam Robinson and the Essex pass game. KQ has a small secondary, but they do fly to the ball well. If Coach Dehart and Defensive Coordinator Mike Dabney can devise a plan and get pressure on Essex, then I think they can force an interception or two. Likewise, I think KQ will have to get their passing game going in order to loosen the run game up for QB Malik Holmes and RB Kam Berry. I won't give a prediction yet and honestly I hate even giving one as I'm friends with coaches on both teams. I think this has the makings of a great game and I just hope and pray that these kids get to finish the game and not have it stopped by the antics of outsiders who have nothing to do with the game. I'm sure both coaching staffs will have their teams ready and I have no doubt that both teams will leave it all on the field.
