I saw their schedule and right off the bat they have Lafayette and Massaponax. Those are super tough games to start the season. My question is, will they continue where they left off last year or will they slip back to mediocre? I have no idea who graduated and who returns.

We return a lot. Definitely not mediocre. We were almost exclusively pass oriented last year, but I think we will be more balanced this year. We will compete with Lafayette and Massaponax, and should probably win the Battlefield.

You just graduated 90% of your offense with only the soon to be Soph WR who has great potential back. On defense you have a good LB back as a seinor, but lost a good part of the rest to graduation. Your JV was less than effective past two years. To many important pieces lost to graduation, something that happens to everyone year to year. Great to remain positive, you had "ONE" great year, but prepare yourself to a fall back to middle or lower within the pack.

We're definitely reloading, not rebuilding. Better all around team this year. See you all August 27.

Sorry, but KG county does not have the feeder system needed to reload. If not for the talented QB transferring in 3 years ago from Brook point, you might not have had the great year last season and that was only 6 games. KG, unfortunately is a school that has a good year or two then will fade for 5-6 seasons until they have a nice run of good kids coming thru the ranks. However, that area is growing and more families are moving out that way, Dahlgran base and jobs the big reason. I lived in KG for 3 years, played agianst KG and have watched them in the Battlefield for 35 years! They have never been a consistant force, ever! Aa a cougar alum and former player, I have succumed to the fact my beloved Cougars wont be world beaters each year. I have swallowed some pride the past 2-3 years as we hit some lean times because of huge graduation loses and the need to play alot of younger players. Anyway, good luck, you guys have a nice facility now, stable staff and dont have to play in that hole in a ground anymore.

Definitely need to be more balanced. Would have helped vs LT. LT spent all evening in the backfield chasing the QB. The Foxes mix in a good run game and they could be in the finals

King George under Lunsford has improved steadily for the 3 years he's been there. They do return a good deal of talent (QB will be a rising JR and got a good amount of playing time last year), multiple RBs returns, 3 out of 5 starting OL return. Skill on the outside will be good with their big WR who is only a sophomore and some other young guys who can get the job done. Now don't get me wrong replacing Mutter and Campbell will be hard, but they have the skill on the roster from the games I saw to do it.

Defense will be key as I feel they lost more on that side than offense.

Also JV's doesn't matter as KG's JV (from their schedule) was in the top two two years ago but only played 2 or 3 games last year. Courtland and Spoty's JV who have been the best it seems haven't turned into success for their varsity programs.

I'm interested to see who will take the reigns in the Battlefield this year as it definitely seems to be more balanced than years past.

Just saw the master schedule myself. Looks like a long drive for me on 8/27. No idea where the field is. Hard to believe Lafayette couldn’t schedule a tidewater team. At least Bruton is off the schedule and looks like a 9 game schedule at this point.

You will like the stadium. Turf and no track, you are real close to the field.
