Kings Fork spotted Indian River a 7-0 lead then held them scoreless the rest of the game in a big 33-7 Southeastern District win. Senior JaVon Ford ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs improved to 5-0.
Indian River took a 7-0 lead on a 20-yard touchdown completion from junior quarterback Kamaari Kirby to receiver Jason Preston with3:57 remaining in the 1st quarter. The Braves defense forced a punt on the next Kings Fork possession, but a muffed punt was recovered by Jahmel Mackey at the 12-yard line. Three plays later, Ford scored from seven yards out to tie the game 7-7 early in the 2nd quarter.
The next time Kings Fork got the ball, they again used the Braves generosity in a 76-yard scoring drive. Indian River was called for a facemask and a pass interference. Ford broke free on a 41-yard run then ended the drive with a 14-yard touchdown run that gave the Bulldogs a 14-7 lead.
The 2nd half was all Kings Fork as their defense forced three turnovers. Senior Zach Walton and sophomore Reginald Davis had interceptions. Junior Joshua Pittman added a sack and intense pressure in the back field while Shimyael Holt (6-foot-5, 304) controlled the line of scrimmage.
Junior quarterback D'andre Artis Boone connected with junior Zydareyus Wynn for a 49-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 21-7 early in the 3rd quarter. Artis-Boone completed 9 of 17 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Sophomore Jean Pierre Bile added a 29-yard in the 3rd quarter and a 32-yard field goal in the 4th quarter for a 27-7 Kings Fork lead.
Ernest Jones returned a fumble for a touchdown to complete the scoring.
Kings Fork will play Grassfield while Indian River will play Oscar Smith.
