Riverheads turned to its favorite weapon tonight, the three-pointer, as three different ladies hit two each and the Red Pride pulled away from stubborn Stonewall Jackson 45-32. RHS will now host Luray on Friday for the Conference 44 championship, after the Lady Bulldogs enjoyed a successful trip down to Altavista tonight, where they picked up the victory. Friday's game should be a dandy as each team won on the other's floor this season.
Regardless of what happens Friday night, both Luray and Riverheads earned berths in next week's 1-A East Regionals, and since the regular season power points determine seeding, it is likely that Riverheads will host a first round game and that Luray will travel again. The Gladiator boys, some of whom watched the action from the stands, travel to Altavista tomorrow night, which is to say Thursday night, to battle the Colonels for that conference title.
