Usually when one volleyball team beats another in straight sets, you are inclined to think it was not a close match. But nothing could be further from the truth in this just-completed Region B semi-final between host Buffalo Gap and Riverheads. The third-seeded Lady Gladiators came out on top, winning 25-23, 25-23, 26-24. The final set was especially tense as you can imagine. I did not see every bit of the action in that one but I believe the Bison were ahead 15-5 at one point before RHS rallied. Still the Gap led 23-21 before RHS forged a 24-24 tie and then sneaked out the final two points for the win.
Presumably the Lady Gladiators will now travel to Altavista Saturday night for the regional final but it is early so let's wait on confirmation of that detail.
