Sorry to tell you my man that even as a 2 seed if the last two seeds in the 19-20 pod were the #7 and #8 seed you would still have to go on the road to the #7 seed.

The wording states that the highest seed from the 17-18 pod will host the lowest remaining seed from 19-20 and the highest seed remaining from the 19-20 pod will host the lowest remaining seed from 17-18.

Completely trash!!

I wonder who thinks up these rules? Oh well, a ride to the Richmond area or Fredericksburg area is not too bad. At that level the game is during the day on Saturday so it will be easier to find. But what is the point of having a great regular season if it only carries to 2 games?

Actually that is up to the school. We played all of our games on Friday nights up until the State Finals.

This is why the current format of playing a district schedule is a blessing and/or curse. Lafayette is cursed in that their district is mainly D3 schools with a D2 thrown in. Just don't get the points you need to out point LT. Oth r than Poquoson and York, maybe grafton, the rest of the BRD was pretty weak this year

You're right. It's both a blessing and a curse but there are more than a few teams in this category. No one will believe in them until the playoffs and rightfully so.

The blessing is they are in with a high seed. They may win an initial game. Look at 3A East teams. Seeds 3 - 8 are just very poor. Many teams JV squads could beat this lot. In 4A East, there will be no easy outs for anyone. Lafayette is absolutely no lock in round one. Frankly, the first team they face may look mediocre on paper but they may also the best team the Rams have played all year. The curse is that they could get their butt whooped along the line and none of the fans can understand how it happened. I've said it many times. More often than not, it's not how good you are or you think you are, it's how good is the other guy.

It's actually real simple. Plenty of video out there on the last few years and the 4A State Champs. Who ever wins this year will pretty much look the same and be as dominant against good teams. If you think 7 wins in a row against teams that don't have more than two victories on the season makes you a contender, you're flogging your dolphin big time. And no, I'm not talking about the Rams with this last comment. But the look at the video should tell you what the eventual Champ WILL look like. That's a lock. If you really think your team qualifies, GL to you.

Interesting - even going back to our Div 4 days the semi final was always Sat afternoon. When we played undefeated Liberty Bealeton and King George both were on Sat not Friday. Last 2 years the same. I also 100% agree a losing record Heritage NN or Debigh and then Kings Fork are all more dangerous than Grafton or Poquoson, York or Smithfield- all playoff teams this year with winning records.

Your so right about it is how good your opponent is not you. The best Lafsyette team ever in my opinion - 1998 was unlucky to meet in the final div 4 at Bridgewater that super Salem team. Any other year- a championship, but not that year though a very good showing.

Just FYI. I know I've questioned Lafayette's schedule and how much can you really measure them based on that but the Rams are are heck of a program and a very good team. They have consistently performed at a high level for a very long time and, frankly, 10 - 0 is nothing to sneeze at no matter who you play. Top shelf group. Congratulations on another great year and GL in the playoffs.
