Tallwood struck for five runs in the 4th inning and held on to defeat Oscar Smith 7-4 in a game played at Harbor Park home of the Triple-A Norfolk Tides.

The Lions did most of their damage with two outs. After three straight singles, Radford University commit Grayson Lamb singled with the bases loaded to give Tallwood a 1-0 lead. With two outs Juwuan Weaver added a 2-run single that gave Tallwood a 3-0 lead and catcher Miles Watson followed with a 2-run double.

Lamb took a no-hitter into the 4th inning before allowing a single in the 4th inning to Andrew Poirier. The Tigers loaded the bases after a single by Jack Flanagan and a walk to Tristan Council but Lamb induced a strikeout and foul ball out to end the inning. He finished with four hits allowed with nine strikeouts while consistently touching 87+ on the radar gun.

Oscar Smith loaded the bases again during the 5th inning but this time they were able to score two runs on a single by Poirier which sent Lamb to the outfield. Poirier finished 3 of 4 from the plate with two RBI. The Lions needed three pitchers to record the final seven outs. Noah Geyer closed the game with two strikeouts to get the save.

Lamb was hot at plate too going 4 for 4 with an RBI and run scored. His battery mate, Miles Watson belted two doubles while adding a sacrifice fly resulting in three RBI. Both TJ Young and Hyatt Hurst had two hits from the rear of the batting order while combining for three runs scored. The Lions finished with 13 hits.
