Well done to Lancaster on the easy win over the preseason #8 team. Coach Tim Rice may have what it takes (ten returnees from a 23-5 State Champion runner up squad) to win another big Title this year!
Northumberland looks pretty good as well. The Indians lost a tough one to 3A Tabb Thursday night 74-69.
I would say NHS definitely had the better overall talent. However, Tabb played better overall team ball with organization and disciplined team play (working the ball around, planned plays etc. as opposed to talented players just driving at the hoop etc.) Once, Northumberland, who has many new players adding to some good returnees, gets their chemistry worked out, the Indians could be quite good as well.
Highlight for NHS was when Dequine Johnson (also plays football, soccer, track for NHS) took a great pass from Joseth Tarleton and slammed the monster dunk to fire up the crowd.
