L.C Bird can unofficially claim the title 'Best in Richmond' after a surprisingly easy 87-67 win over John Marshall on the Justices home court at the Coaches for the Cure Classic. The Skyhawks gave once beaten Trinity Episcopal their only defeat and their only negative mark came at the hands of Landstown at the Virginiapreps Classic.

Senior Cam Henry scored five straight points in the 2nd quarter as L.C Bird opened up a 10-point lead 23-13. Pinky Wiley made back-to-back baskets in the 3rd quarter as the Skyhawks widened their lead to 41-25 to start the 3rd quarter.

After scoring only two points in the 1st half, senior Jaylen Dillard got hot after halftime burying three treys and scoring 12 points in the quarter. Each basket from Dilliard seemed to drain the Justices' momentum like a dagger thru the heart.

The Skyhawks continued sprinting up-and-down the court in the 4th quarter outscoring John Marshall 24-21 to post a 20-point victory margin.

It was a total team effort with the Skyhawks receiving contributions on both ends of the floor. Henry led all scorers with 25 points scoring on a variety of 3-pointers, layups and short jumpers around the basket. Dillard scored 25 points while draining five treys; all in the second half.

Freshman Isaiah Todd led John Marshall with 21 points and seven rebounds. Greg Jones scored 13 points while adding six rebounds. Point guard Levar Allen chipped in 12 points and five assists. DeMarr McRae scored all 10 of his points in the 2nd half.
