Both offenses have really been wearing the opposing defenses down. LCA is even better up front than last year and pushing Salem around up front. Davidson is just... well, the best player in the entire state.

Big turning point in the game happened in the first half. Salem drove inside the LCA 15-yard line but got a 15 yard penalty then bad shotgun snap on third down followed by a blocked FG that LCA returned inside the Salem red zone before scoring to go up 14-0.

Salem offense has looked great outside of some bad mistakes, with Persinger and Logan giving LCA a bunch of problems.

Update: Gideon Davidson just broke another long run as I am writing this and LCA is in the Salem red zone again.

Update: Salem defense had a great opportunity for on stop on third and 10 but the defensive end fell down and lost contain and LCA connected on a TD pass and then a 2-point conversion to go up 28-14.

Speaking of defensive end, Salem has really struggled on one side in particular this game. Would like to see Camper get a shot over there at some point.

Update: Salem just ran it up the middle on third-and-10 and will be punting. This one is likely over now... LCA is simply better.

Update: LCA - 35 Salem - 21

Salem had another good chance for a stop as LCA had third-and 10. Both defensive tackles had free shots at tackles for loss on LCA's back-up running back but he broke both of them and picked up the first and then LCA scored right after.

Salem responds with a long kick-off for TD... really showed off some insane speed on this one.

35-21 Final. Salem defensive front 7 got beat badly. Offense not bad , but still one dimensional

LCA - 35 Salem - 21 FINAL

LCA is REALLY good this year, just as everyone expected. In a lot of ways they are even better than last year's team. They are just going to run over teams up front... just did that to Salem and that is one of the best fronts they will face all year.

Obviously they have some really key guys that need to stay healthy but if they do, their games are going to just be ugly before halftime. The new QB also made some really nice clutch plays and that is something I wasn't expecting.

Salem will be fine the rest of the year. I think everyone knows the type of talent they lost from last year's team but I still like this group. QB Eli Taylor played a nice game throwing and some scrambles and Persinger and Logan had great games as well. They were able to run the ball surprising well at times against a VERY good front and I thought the OL played pretty well in the run game and in pass protection.

That's what I was thinking too. Soph Jordan McCadden had the KR TD @Shabutie

We got beat upfront on the DL last year too, but it was a closer game then because our LB corps was experienced and incredibly good. They made some stops that unfortunately, we just could not make last night. However, one starting LB (Cox) didn’t play because of injury. Not sure to what extent his injury is, but hopefully he is able to get back soon. Davidson is also a year older and is just lights out on both sides of the ball. Heck of a football player.
