JV boys are up 46-12 at the half. Starters were pulled at around 38-6 with 4 mins left in the 2nd period.

GC JV boys win 72-22.

Varsity girls and boys will follow.

GC varsity girls up 15-8 at the end of the first.

The GC transfer Fullen is proving to be a force in the paint for the girls. She's every bit of 6'2 or 6'3 and can also shoot from outside.

GC girls up 36-13 at the half.

GC girls 55-22 end of 3rd.

A 6'2 girl for the Lady Devils?

Wow!

She towers over everyone and I have heard she is at least that tall or maybe 6'3. And after seeing her for the first time....I believe it. GC girls definitely have a post presence.

Edit: she just walked up the bleachers beside of me as I was standing. She is as tall or taller than I am and I'm 6'2....the rumors arent false.

Yea hes gonna light up the scoreboard. He was doubled and tripled all night long. Should be plenty of opportunities for several other players if they will just look for the ball. Ervin and Dean are drawing a crowd.

The crazy thing is they played rather poorly tonight and have ALOT of things the need to work on and improve upon. They played nowhere close to their potential.....yet they still won by close to 40. When and if they really start to gel they will be tough to beat. I smell several Ls coming for them though in the near future. Arbys Classic looms and GC also plays Science Hill(TN), Daniel Boone (TN), and Cleveland(TN). The Devils are gonna get the tests they need to improve.

Since I am following DB this season mostly (my girlfriend's son goes there), I believe GC will beat Science Hill (already saw them, DB beat them comfortably) and Boone.

I'd love to see Gate City and DB play... maybe that will happen in the Arby's at some point. That would be a heck of a game. DB has a decent shot of getting to Murfreesboro this year I believe.

GIRLS:

Gate City 62, Lee High 30

Jaden Fullen scored 14 points as Gate City cruised to a Mountain 7 District triumph.

The Blue Devils, who also got 10 points from Macey Mullins, built a 36-13 halftime advantage.

Shelbie Fannon led Lee High with 14 points.

Since I am following DB this season mostly (my girlfriend's son goes there), I believe GC will beat Science Hill (already saw them, DB beat them comfortably) and Boone.

I'd love to see Gate City and DB play... maybe that will happen in the Arby's at some point. That would be a heck of a game. DB has a decent shot of getting to Murfreesboro this year I believe.

I was hoping GC would get matched up with DB last year at the Arby's. However, they got one of the easiest draws in the tournament and GC wasnt so lucky.

From what I've heard they are a really solid bunch this year. It would be a heck of a game to watch and would draw a very big crowd I think. It did in years past when we played them.
