Follow along for updates from Virginia Beach as the Ocean Lakes Dolphins visit the Landstown Eagles in a a matchup of unbeaten teams from the Beach District.

Both teams are jockeying for the top seed for the playoffs in Class 6, Region A.

We'll have updates posted up here and through my Twitter feed (@hatfieldsports) along with stats and more... stay tuned!

Didn't take long for Ocean Lakes to get on the board - a 6-play, 71-yard drive that took all of 2:02. Nice play call mixture by OC Matt Lemn with 3 runs, 3 passes, too. Jedlick continues to run that read option well.

Landstown says 'Anything you can do, I can do better,' ... or just as good. Great response by Landstown on its opening series. Spreading the Ocean Lakes defense out horizontally and using their speed to get to the edges.

Victor Jones did a good job of following his blockers up front - Donovan McPeek, Braden Rupert, Isaiah Williams, Kenan Luchun and Giovanni Ramirez the usual ones paving the way - and plowed in with ease for the score.

A HUGE pick-six for Landstown to close out the opening period. Ocean Lakes had turned it over just 2 times in the previous 5 games total (both of those giveaways coming in game two against First Colonial). The Eagles know if they end up +2 or +3 in the takeaway category, there's a great chance they'll come out on top.

This game has quickly turned into a blowout. Stukes has 64 yards rushing on 7 carries already. Jones with 2 TD runs. My oh my, mighty nice for Coach Reamon and the Eagles to have him back in the lineup after he missed the first four games due to injury. He's also a presence on defense from his linebacker spot.

Some quick numbers at the break....

Landstown QB Brent Stukes 5 of 10 for 40 pass yards, TD pass; 8Car. 86Yds.
Landstown RB Victor Jones with 2 TD's rushing
Landstown WR Joseph White with 3 catches for 25 yards and a TD

Ocean Lakes QB Xander Jedlick 4 of 7 for 66 yards, TD, INT passing; 3Car. 4Yds.
Ocean Lakes RB Niko Tauti 10 rushes for 19 yards
Ocean Lakes WR Jaevon Becton with 2 catches for 39 yards, TD

We now have a ballgame. Jarvis scores on the basic tunnel screen pass, avoids tacklers running through traffic on his way to the end zone. Field position now going to be key if the Dolphins are able to draw any closer in this one.

Raekwon Witcher from the fullback spot rumbles 19 yards down to the Ocean Lakes 21-yard line. Landstown on the move after Idlebird's pick - Eagles looking to salt this one away, up 26-15 with 9:54 remaining.

Onside kick time. Quite an incredible hurdle by Becton, who is truly starring on both sides of the ball for the Dolphins this year. No quit in Ocean Lakes. A much different team from the 5-5 squad of last year.

Landstown moves to 6-0, and should the Eagles win out (with remaining games against 4-1 Salem, 3-2 Kellam, 4-2 Tallwood and 3-2 Cox), then they will have the inside track to the #1 seed in Class 6, Region A for the playoffs.
