AmenBefore you speak publicly or call the VHSL, you better have evidence lined up. Even when a parent told me a cross-town coach asked my player to switch schools, I just let it go. Make your program one that players will want to stay in. Kids and parents manipulate the system way more than coaches anyway.
I couldn’t agree more. Coach Harless is the embodiment of always taking the high road and always putting God and honesty above all else. To make false accusations against a man of his character is stooping about as low as a person can go.I don't pretend to know the situation but i do know Coach Jaime Harless is a stand up guy that i'm sure the kids LOVE.He seems to have created an environment at LB that kids want to be a part of. The VHSL found no wrong doing on his part so now those that made claims are going to need to defend themselves in court.

Yes. In all sports. "My travel coach won't let me play high school ball."In our area, you have Middle School, Rec league coaches that act as handlers for their top-tier kids. It's a shame to see kids leave their communities to attend IMG, St. Francis A, or even Life Christian A.
I agree with you on two of the three bullet points.Three things I know.
1) Coach Harless is a class act and Chuck Pound would not allow anything like has been alleged. If the kids are coming to LB, it is because they are attracted to the program he built from the ground up. Salem has also attracted talent over the years but I have never heard anyone accuse them of recruiting.
2) The VHSL is totally feckless in enforcement of it's own rules, especially the one on recruiting.
3) One of the schools crying the loudest has been, by many accounts, draining talent from the city schools for years. Cry me a river. If you are going to make an accusation, you need to have clean hands.
Agreed! The school crying the loudest, Northside, always had a high number of transfers into their program, namely from neighboring William Fleming. Were all those illegally recruited? You didn't hear of teams forfeiting to them back in those days because they were too good, or had transfers. Pretty cowardly to not play a football game, especially in Covid times where kids aren't getting full seasons anyway. You just cheat the kids on both sidelines from getting to compete. And I ain't got a dog in the hunt, but hate to see kids denied opportunities.Three things I know.

What about if the school the kid is at is not in his or her best interest . Why does the kid have to suffer? Before you speak publicly or call the VHSL, you better have evidence lined up.
