I wanted to share a great article about the coaching staff at Louisa this year (past few years actually). Coach Fischer is legend and Louisa County owes him a debt of gratitude for the way he has changed this program. He has been the heart and soul of this program but has spent a lot time away from this team dealing with his medical issues. In his absence the rest of the Lion coaching staff has stepped their game up to lead a team to the state finals. Scrimmage Play has a great article about Asst. HC William Patrick and the work he has done over the past year plus. With Fischer stepping down at the end of the year, I hope Louisa County does the right thing and gives this young man a chance to take over the program that he as much as anyone has lead to 4A Title game.

Eddie Joyce and and Andrew Lewis would have been better. Only problem is that the truth would not have fit the narrative. Lewis had integrated years before that game and some of their best players were African American. Also game was not close 28-0 TC

Wow I did not know that. So the game wasn’t even close and it was not the first year TC Williams integrated? Good movie nonetheless

First year for TC, but Marshall (Andrew Lewis) was portrayed as an all white team. Not true. Also linebacker for TC got hurt after the game not before

A few years ago, former players from that TC Williams team came to some Louisa games just to check out the atmosphere, and spoke to the team.
“Some of the actual Titans came from T.C. Williams High School [the film ‘Remember the Titans’ is based on them] did a ceremonial coin toss for one game and gave a presentation to our students about being good kids and doing well in school,” Downey said. “They fell in love with [the atmosphere]. They came back on their own from Northern Virginia to be a part of this.”
