LOUISA

chiefs had the ball inside the 5 and took 2 fgs off the board for running into the kicker. then with 14 sec left in the half Louisa intercepted and ended the half. chiefs were never the same after that.

Yeah that's a tough call being that close to the goal line. A TD puts them up 14, right? Not like Louisa scored off it though. Hard to say that cost them the game losing by 7.

it was a momentum thing. Louisa would have gone in 10 down with chiefs having all the momentum. instead they came out looking beatdown and Louisa was on a high. besides they had 6 tries and couldn't get it in from the 3 and closer. take the points

yup. Knew something bad was about to happen on that. Never take points off the board especially not 2x. Our snapper kept snapping our shotgun high and off target and we we trying to do direct snaps to our tailback. It was a perfect storm.

It really was a good game. We just couldn’t stop the QB running the ball. We’d stop him but very seldom 4 down in a row.

Louisa is excellent at the one thing we have struggled with. Louisa has the horses. The Louisa run defense was getting gashed but they sures that up in the 2nd half.

Louisa made 4th downs, Monacan didnt convert.

If you were at the game you can see how well balanced Monacan is. Louisa can pass but the power run is their bread and butter.

It’s sounds easy to stop Louisa. But their is a big difference from knowing how to stoping those big backs and ACTUALLY stopping them.

Not sure why we abandon the pass randomly for so long after we had so much success with it.

Dinwiddie can’t pass as good as Monacan but is still a major passing threat. The inverse is true for the running game. Monacan has a good running game but Dinwiddies is better.

Dinwiddie also has more size than Monacan as Louisa was noticeably bigger at almost every position.

This is going to again boil down to can Louisa take away something (run or pass) from Dinwiddie and can Dinwiddie stop the power running game.

This “soup” has been simmering for a while between Dinwiddie and Louisa. Makes sense that it will decide the regional final.

I felt the same way about the passing game. I think I would have kept throwing. Especially deep. Louisa was in man coverage almost all night and left theirs corners on an island. Fludd and the receivers are tough to stop. He is so calm in the pocket and throws a great ball. I think Bell had a great night throwing for the Lions too. Wasn't high volume but moved the sticks a few times and set up some 4th and shorts. Just enough to supplement the run game.

Louisa was 4 for 4 on 4th downs. Louisa scored twice on a 4th down play. Louisa worked the clock the last part of the 4th quarter. Using 23 seconds each play. Louisa sure did miss the 25 second play clock in The Jungle on The Mark L. Fischer field. Once Louisa called a timeout just before a delay of game penalty. MHS AD and the MHS coaching staff we're very helpful to us specially when we showed up at 4:15 PM. Really Top Notch.
