Madison County looked pretty strong in the three way scrimmage Friday night with Central Lunenburg and Fauquier. Hall of Fame coach Eddie Dean retired 20 years ago and the program has suffered for a long time since. We have had four coaches since Dean retired after 30+ years at the helm. Looks like Coach Helmick has instilled some enthusiasm and energy back in the football nation of Madison. Looked to be 40+ kids dressed out. I remember a time when most of Madison County just closed up on Friday nights to attend the game (on the road or at home). Its about time for that to return!!!!!!
