Magna Vista vs Reidsville on Sept 15th

Reidsville beat Morehead tonight 74-0. The Rams are extremely physical. I think the game will resemble the Staunton River playoff game from last year.

Ridge98, I'm not basing it off of the Morehead score; I'm basing it off of the talent I see on that team. You will see for yourself very soon. If you would like to make a wager on the game I'll be more than happy to oblige you.

Im not saying MV gonna win, or reidsville not any good. I watched them tonight also. They do have alot of talent, but its hard to judge against morehead. MV still has issues at running back, scales rarely seen the field in the 2nd half at JF and rupert went out with injury. My opinion though i dont think MV will get embarrassed like the SR game.

Tarheel fan1, I do believe that you're right. Tough test for the Rams this Friday.
I understand where Tarheel is coming from..I follow a little NC football and I'll be the first to tell you that you can't really base anything off of RJ Reynolds's record. They beat WS Prep who is a basketball school in their 3rd year of varsity football and WS Atkins who hasn't had a winning season since the school opened back up in the mid 2000s. RJR's win over SW Guilford looks good (15-12) but I'd say that the Reidsville Rams are probably 3-4 TDs better than SW. I think the Reidsville Rams beat Reynolds big. Reidsville in their "down years" competed with the likes of perinatal powers Northern Guilford and NW Guilford (who hasn't won a state championship but is a very good 4a team). If MV doesn't have a running game then it could be a long night. I've been big on MV all year and I still am, but I'd probably give this one to the Rams (right now at least). MV has to play disciplined football if they want any chance of being competitive with Reidsville.

Good one DSH. I saw two glaring things that will have a direct bearing on the game. For one, the Reidsville Rams are very phyiscal. The second thing is that the RR have a strong passing game, while MV's 2nddary is somewhat weak.

Yes, you are right. If you look at the JF game, MV had 39 pass attempts and only 20 some rushes. You will have to have a pass and rush game to beat a team like Reidsville. Their DBs are big and quick so you wont be able to throw on them all night. Quick 3 and outs have killed MV in the past, it just wears the defense out. Hopefully this bye week they can get some guys a little bit healthier.

Yes, I would like to see both teams at full strength. I expect to see a full stadium next Friday.

Without a healthy Scales this will be a blowout. 39 pass attempts not going to get it done against a good team. Magna Vista can be dangerous on offense if healthy but defensively they are struggling to get stops. To beat a good team in the playoffs, they must be solid on both sides of ball.

Yes Winston Salem Reynolds isn't the best team. But this game will show where the rams are. The season starts Friday for the rams.

Reisville beat WS-Reyolds 49-6. It was 42 to nothing early in the third, and they then had a running clock and won it 49-6. Could have easily been 70-0. Reynolds was undefeated coming into that game, although they had played a fairly weak schedule. Reidsville has given up 20 points in 4 games with all of those points coming in the 4th quarter when the game was already well decided and over. Reidsville is the second winningest High School in NC football history behind Shelby, NC.

Reidsville will win the game over Magna Vista by 4 touchdowns. It will not be a running clock or a blowout, but it will be a bad beating, something in the area of 45-17. Magna Vista is in over their head here. For the Classification it currently plays in, Reidsville has been historically and still is one of the best not just in NC, but in the Southeastern United States. They are the real deal, and again, I am talking about Reidsville playing at their former and current classification. They have dominated historically over about every team with the exeption of Shelby, NC. Would Reidsville go into Charlotte and compete with those large schools above it's classification and win titles? Of course not, but they would still have some 7-3, 8-2 seasons, even playing at the highest level. In their level, they have just dominated over the years, with the exception of Shelby. Whenever NC has reclassed over the years in which Reidsville falls within Shelby's classification, this has been their nemesis in the playoffs.

Looking forward to this weekend. I saw someone mention the run. Through 4 games we've allowed 19 yards rushing... total.
I hope this can become a recurring game for Reidsville. Make no mistake about it though...we don't mind playing bigger schools. Reynolds thought we're just playing a 2a school last night. In the last 20 games, we're 20 0, we've scored nearly 1100 or and allowed less than 150. Averaging 52 per game and allowed less than 7. Shutout 9. Didn't allow a point in conference last season.
As far as history, we have 19 titles. More than any school in the state and second in wins.

MV is a long ways from the teams 2-4 years ago but they do have some talent on this team. The receivers are mostly 10th graders with loads of potential and will be exciting to watch for next 3 years. I think most mv fans on here know how I feel bout qb but that's a whole different story. If scales is healthy he will definitely help the situation on off/def. I think the defense is getting better every week. They gave up I think 29 to JF when JF put up 56 on GW. Reidsville will most likely win this game but it will be a good experience for the warriors. Glad they scheduled this game always good to see different opponents.

I'm looking 4ward to the game. Reidsville's QB is one Heck of a player.

Looking at some tape I think MV can win. Not sure bout the health of some players but if scales plays and mv limit turnovers they can most definitely win this game.

ShadesMcGrades, confidence is a must. I honestly believe that MV will be over matched. I'm not being mean, just being real. MV has a weakness and it's the 2ndary. Remember #21 for Reidsville cuz he will be trouble for MV.

I remember Reidsville Middle used to beat the crap out of. Fielddale, martinsville, and LaurelPark Middle until they took the Reidsville off the schedule

It will be a reality check of why Reidsville was removed from the schedule in the first place.

He's a good player, never said he was the best. #21 is a very good player as well. I'm impressed with Reidsville as a whole.

Just honest opinion. Magna Vista has a great history and a weak schedule this year that gives the fan base hope. Magna Vista will get beat by Reidsville pretty easy. If Scales doesn't get healthy they will be bounced in 1st or 2nd round of playoffs..just keeping it real.

I think with a healthy Chris Scales, it would still be awfully tough for MV.

I think mv will win 1 maybe 2 playoff games this year. As far as schedule goes they scrimmaged Salem, Dan river, JF, reidsville, and got GW, that's a pretty good stretch of games.

I'm pretty sure that those teams stopped playing Reidsville, as well as Holmes, Dillard and Western Rockingham because the Piedmont District expanded to 8 teams - Patrick County started a middle school team - and therefore didn't need to participate in the Carolina middle school league anymore.

I'm sure their fear of Reidsville beating the crap out of them had something to do with it too though....

MV JV were very physical and hard hitting but no match for the Rams. MV scored against Reidsville's 2nd team D.
Qudos to #4 MV knocked #33 Reidsville in the mouth and forced fumble on 15 yd line.

Look for more of the same tomorrow night. Reidsville by at least 3. If MV D doesn't play great... Running clock

Just curious, what was the JV score?

These 2 actually play on the middle school level in a couple weeks as well if I read it right.
