Everybody was rained out Friday and the regular season ends tomorrow, so all four games are re-scheduled for today/tonight, and no doubt the various skippers will be figuring out which pitchers to use between today and tomorrow's games.
Adding a little more interest to things is the fact that all four of today's games appear to be evenly-matched, and they are all a case of an Augusta County school playing an "up north" school. Here is the line-up:
Page at Wilson: This is the marquee game of the day. I don't think the Panthers can be caught for regular-season honors, but if so, it would be the second-place Hornets. So this one should be a tight one.
Stuarts Draft at Luray: A couple of unpredictable, up and down teams. Morrison pitched a gem at Riverheads recently and if he should perhaps be on the mound for the Dogs, it could be a long evening for SD. Otherwise, the Cougars might be the slight favorite in this one.
Riverheads at Stonewall Jackson: In a game featuring a pair of teams that might see each other again soon in Conference 44 action, the key to this one will be whether RHS can snap out of a two-game losing streak. Granted those two losses were to the top two teams in the league, but if SJ can sense any lingering effects on the part of the Big Red, they are a good enough team to take advantage of it.
East Rock at Buffalo Gap: This has been a disappointing season for both teams, but maybe more so for the Eagles, who have generally been contenders. Looks like a complete toss-up and might be decided in the seventh.
