GM Boys Soccer won game 6-1. It was later found out that Mason played a kid who had been injured all year and was playing for the first time. No physical... Mason self reported and forfeited the game.

The irony here is that their coach is beyond ridiculous about the rules. And not important soccer rules. Tacky rules beyond belief. Cries to the refs about an undershirt, sock color, headbands, etc. His team could be up 7-0 and he will whine that the color of the other team's Gatorade cooler is not in compliance.

How could you not know that a player had never received a psychical? Especially an injured player? Feel bad for his players, but this incident couldn't happen to a better guy...

Interesting post. I am not from anywhere near that area but sounds like a little sour grapes going on here. I know Mason is a super powerhouse in soccer and it must be kind of depressing to have to play them over and over.

So Mason was already way up in the game and may have accidentally played a kid who had been out all year, who may have not entirely completed his physical from months ago, and maybe someone in the office missed it. Sounds like Mason caught it, self reported it and paid the consequences. The kid probably made no difference whatsoever in the outcome.

Seems like the Mason coach turned it in precisely because of what you accuse him of being.... a very, very detailed coach, even if it goes against himself and his own team. I can understand that kind of precision thinking & coaching may be quite irritating on occasion.

Details win games, brother.

Playing a kid without a physical is not an oversight by the office though. That is a coaches responsibility. He should have never been allowed to try out or been part of a roster. So it doesn't sound like the actions of a very detailed coach. It sounds like someone putting too much faith in an irresponsible kid. Nothing personal to this particular kid...I would describe nearly every 15-18 year old in such a manner. I won't pass judgment on the coach or player, but let's not make the guy a martyr when he obviously screwed the pooch.
