Pitt commit Bryce Yates threw two touchdown passes and added a 4-yard touchdown run to help Matoaca defeat Warhill 35-0. The win avenged a 21-7 loss to the Lions last year.

Yates finished the night 11 of 17 passing for 136 yards. He had two long touchdown completions called negated due to offensive penalties. In all, the Warriors had four touchdowns taken off the scoreboard.

Matoaca led 14-0 after the 1st quarter scoring on their 1st two drives. Virginia commit Dillon Newton-Short 1st two receptions both went for touchdowns. His first touchdown was a 19-yard completion from Yates and the second covered 1-yard on a 1st-and-goal.

Sophomore running back Trevion Mills took the 1st play of the 3rd quarter 74 yards for a touchdown to give the Warriors a 21-0 lead. Mills was starting for UVA commit Montino Williams and he finished with 180 yards on only 16 carries.

South Carolina commit Caleb Williams led the Warriors with five solo tackles. Montino Williams played primarily on the defensive side and added five tackles. The defense was dominant forcing eight punts and one fumble.

Warhill played conservative with their sophomore quarterback. The Lions did not attempt a pass all game nor did they make a 1st down. They finished with 24 yards of total offense.
