Middlesex athletics wins Unsportsmanlike & Poor Conduct Award

Middlesex High School and Rappahannock High School will battle once again in the Region A Volleyball Championship. Only the Winner advances to States.

I will discuss the teams and records later. They are both great with star players and excellent teamwork.

The game will be held at Middlesex as they earned it. No problem there.

All schools can now have 100 fans in attendance.

In our area, All schools that I am aware of have provided the visiting team with at least a small allotment of tickets for their fans, usually 2 per player.

Northumberland and Rappahannock allowed plenty of the other team's fans (parents) to attend.

There is no rule that says you must do this, it is just the proper ethical and sportsmanlike action to do. It is also considered good sporting behavior and promotes fair play principles.

Middlesex will allow ZERO Rappahannock fans to attend this game. 0.

Good luck working with the rest of Region A after this pathetic stunt...

I would be willing to bet they will only sell 50-60 of their own tickets which means the other tickets will go unused. The other AD's in the region can't be thrilled losing that ticket revenue. Every little bit helps in a pandemic.

If no Rappahannock fans can attend a regional championship game at MHS then no Middlesex fans should be allowed to attend. Should only be players, officials, coaches and media allowed if this is how how it's being handled.

If it's accurate the way you explained it CAVS1, (and you are recognized as being one of the most accurate and responsible posters on Preps), then it is a very sad commentary about the adults in the Middlesex Administration. They chose to deny the parents and family of the Rappahannock kids the privilege of supporting their children. And for what, a little more favorable home field advantage? Yeah boy, that is really setting the right example for the kids.
