Middlesex and Northumberland basketball teams traveled to Washington D.C. for what turned out to be a great event. Northumberland/Middlesex girls teams took the court at 1:00 in what was a low scoring but close game. Northumberland girls won in a 36-35 thriller.
The boys teams played at 3:00 in what started off as a great contest but led to Northumberland going on a run in which Middlesex couldn't overcome and Northumberland ended up with a big victory over Middlesex. Leading the way for Northumberland boys was Palmer and Thomas. Thomas hit 4 threes in 5 trips up the floor (keep in mind they used the NBA 3 point line). The Chargers were led by Reed and Marshall.
After the game both teams got to participate as the fan tunnel for the NBA teams. Middlesex was the tunnel for the Houston Rockets and Northumberland was the tunnel for the Washington Wizards.
It was a great day with over 400 fans from the area attending the high school and NBA games.
