Just watched the 11:00 news and at this point, the weather sounds lousy for Friday night and Saturday around here. Keep up posted on what they are saying for down there. Quite a few of us have to be concerned about our hair, you know..........

Right now forecast says rain likely (80% chance) for Friday night in Montross. Let's see how it develops the closer we get to game night

As of 8 pm Monday, the forecast for Montross on Friday is calling for 20% chance of rain with 70% chance of light rain in the evening.

Ours just got moved to Thursday. I suspect many more games, mid state and south will also. Although, personally I think it’s going to be dry until welol after the games on Friday.

Thanks for keeping us posted. Up here in the valley they are saying no rain until Saturday, which means we should get most high school games played, but I wasn't sure what it was going to be like down there. I guess moving this RHS trip to Thursday night would not be very practical because that would be a LONG trip for a school night, so let's just hope for the best. Sounds like the college games around the state will either have to postpone or play in miserable conditions to satisfy their TV contracts.

I honestly think that most games can be played Friday night, but I agree with the decision to move the games up. Anyone that has lived through a tropical weather event knows that it’s smart to prepare. Moving the games up gives everyone all day Friday to take care of preparations. LOL, the biggest thing for most is dragging out that generator that has been sitting for a year with old, stale gas clogging the carb.

You and yours stay safe out there in the valley “long”.

I believe we will have a better idea of what the game-time weather will be once a new forecast is released tomorrow. Right now it says nighttime rain.

The latest forecast shows a 53% chance of scattered showers at kickoff. And quite naturally another forecast says there will be "periods of rain" at 90% probability. Will have a better idea what to expect tomorrow

One of my RHS connections just texted me to say that the team has been informed that the game will definitely go on as scheduled.

No surprise it's postponed, just my opinion but Westmoreland has no incentive to play this game. Could have been scheduled for Thursday but.....

Colonial Beach, 20 minutes down the road moved their game against WP to tomorrow night. I'm not sure if the distance that Riverheads would have had to travel on a school night played a factor or Westmoreland just wanted to cancel. Moving forward, the only way this game would be able to be made up is on a weeknight anyways as RH has already had their bye week. I seriously doubt if the game will be made up and both teams will only have 9 regular season games.

The WP at CB game was originally scheduled for tonight. I think the WP Crab Carnival is supposed to be this weekend and that's why.
Oh okay. The Crab Carnival ended up getting postponed until the end of October because of the forecasted weather, but I didn't realize the game was originally scheduled for tonight. Thanks for clarifying
