Exactly.. the offense is struggling. 25 cant run with that brace on.. QB slow...
Final score was Reidsville 35 MV 0....passing for MV was pretty non-existent....keep waiting for Reidsville to jump those 15 yd passes to sideline that was only about a yard or two past the line of scrimmage....special teams really hurt MV with getting a punt blocked by the Rams for TD and and also some poor snaps.......................Reidsville had almost 300 yds of O at the half..didn't do a lot in the 2nd...penalty seemed to be thrown about every other play..............
I think you hit the nail on the head. Its just no identity.. we had both running backs go out last year with knee injuries, and its like they playing not to get hurt again. Very predictable and vanilla offense.. a defense as good as reidsville that will not work. Hopefully they can get some things fixed. Goodluck to reidsville i think they in for another great year.
We do have speed, but hes just not using like he use to. Remember when he try to get the ball to the speedsters in open space. Offense is just predictiable. Mv use to keep the defense on its heels with a hurry up. Now its just different. It will work in the piedmont district minus GW because they got the speed to match, but good playoff teams will kill us right now.
For one MV does not have a vertical threat. MV was just over matched 2nite.
Prayers for the MV center that suffered the fractured leg last night.
Not taking anything at all away from Reidsville as they look to be a very good team but MV certainly needs to get to work. I think Reidsville took their foot off the gas in the second half and got a little sloppy. Score probably could have been worse.
IMO, the MV "skill" players do not look as fast as they have in years past and the o-line does not appear to be winning many battles up front. I know the o-line lost two, 3 year starters from last year so maybe they are still trying to find the right combo of linemen. May be a long season in Ridgeway this year.

We did play sloppy in the second half. MV also made adjustments. Don't beat yourself up too much on offense. Before tonight, we had only allowed 20yds rushing total and have been averaging 50 pts a game. We left some pts on the field, but overall you guys are not a bad team.
MV needs to start the 2 year rebuild now. Gotta face it they're not winning state much less playoff game. Looks like best receivers are soph #5, #6. Not sure bout the line far as what grade. Put in #12 at qb and let sophomores play together.
Some of y'all are being to hard on MV they are a pretty good despite that Middle School offense, that's the same type of offense Reidsville Middle ran when my son played for them. It's to simple for today's high school defenses. Teams like Reidsville tend to make good teams look slow and average. I believe MV will go on to have a successful season. I remember when Reidsville played a live game scrimmage with Gretna high school in Virginia they were 2 time state champions and predicted to win it again. Reidsville beat them 40 something to 7. But they still went on to have a very successful season, not sure if the won states or not that year.
Lol.. i think we just have gotten spoiled. Our previous offenses would average over 40 a game. Seems like now its just hard to score. Even at dan river they got most of those points in the 4th quarter. Hopefully they can fine tune some things and finish strong.
Ridge, I'm sorry for you and the rest of my friends out that way. You ran into the proverbial buzzsaw last night. But, there is such a thing as a "good" loss.
If this helps Coach F. get their attention and gets them refocused, then it was well worth the loss. MV has talent. Maybe not talent in the same places as when you won back to back championships, but enough to win games.
Last night, Monacan went into their game against #1, Class 6 Manchester having under-achieved in every aspect so far this season. They were a team near the crisis point. Loss of confidence, no swagger, maybe a lack of real leadership internally. But man, they fixed all of that and more in beating Manchester.
MV is just that type of game away from the same turn around.
Remember where Blacksburg was at about this point in the season last year? So it's certainly possible.
Every year the fans from Ridgeway have high expectations for the Warriors. I honestly felt the team was going to have some question marks this year. Every high school team has to deal with graduating players but MV also lost some of its coaching staff and I'm not convinced just yet C Scales is 100%.
I agree the offense looks sluggish to me and it has not just been the game last night, as they were just beaten by a superior team. Maybe this will be the defining moment of the season and will light a fire under the players. It will be interesting to see how the next few weeks go.
95 don't be petty in bringing back shoulda could a woulda. The last 2 years Reidsville has been as good of team as most anyone will face
And Magna Vista has never beaten Reidsville. In the 5 times we've played Reidsville has out scored MV 212 to 19.
Reidsville didn't suck 3 and 4 years ago, so I'm sure it would have been a good game.
Gretna In Virginia said the same thing the year they won the state and came to community stadium and got whopped 42- 7. Thomasville ( a powerhouse from early 90's until 2004 said the said thing in 2003 and got whopped 35-7 on their way to a state title the same year we won the states. In Reidsville down years they've only lost 2 maybe 3 games included playoffs.

I don't remember the year or the circumstances but a few years back Laurel Park did beat Reidsville in middle school ball, if my memory is correct. It would have probably been about the time the 2014/2015 teams were in middle school. I remember the LP coaches stating it had been quite some time since Reidsville middle school had lost a game.
Never the less, I try to never make comparisons like that because it is impossible to prove what might have happened in the past. I think MV would have been more competitive than they were this past Friday night but who knows if they would have won or not.
MV has a lot of work to do if they want to compete in November this year.
Yea i read about that. Looked for some highlights, but couldnt find anything. Hope they start giving him more carries, but looks like they have a boatload of RBs.
