UVA is on the come up let's be real. VT is slipping even further from greatness. What gives? Insight please.

Bad recruiting - a lot of the best 757 talent goes elsewhere, reliance in many Freshman shows no depth, poor QB talent, and a coach that needs to know when to hand the reins over to somewhere younger. Vt needs to get a new high profile head coach to bring back the program. It is now dead in the water, more or less. It will only get harder to get the talent to be a top 25 program with their continuing poor performance that now has deteriorated to embarrassing.

UVA has improved, but they still fail to close out games that they should win (in my opinion). Saturday was another game where they had total control, but let the game just slip away. Every stat was in the Wahoos favor except for the final score. UNC is a team with tons of athleticism, but they don't have a true RB. The QB is really their RB. Three or four big plays by UNC and UVA's lack of offensive execution in the 2nd half did the Wahoos in again. They are now 4-4, and need 2 wins for a bowl appearance. With good wins against a ranked Louisville team and a very competitive Pitt team along with giving UCLA and BYU all they could handle, I was thinking that UVA would make it to a bowl this year. I still have hopes, but FSU is still on the schedule. Surely, UVA is better than last year, but without a bowl appearance, I think they will be looked at the same way. Just my take on it. Go Hoos!! And for VT, they have just fallen off tremendously. I'm not a VT supporter and I would like to see UVA just take it to them, but we will see.

The VT offensive scheme is among the worst in college football. It is not designed to score touchdowns. It's designed to slowly move ball down field with hopes for a field goal or punt.

I highly doubt they hope to score only a field goal or punt the ball away. Maybe the talent level just isn't up to snuff? Double edged sword for VT. They loaded up on talent when they were the main high profile program recruiting on the coast but that in turn led some other big time universities to start recruiting there as well.
