My New State Top 10 (August 27th)

As always just my opinion. Not much change after week 1.


August 27th:

1. Riverheads- 51 game win streak
2. Galax- Statement win over Glenvar
3. Essex- Weapons all over the field
4. King and Queen- Scored 5 different ways vs CB
5. George Wythe- Played Radford very tough
6. Rural Retreat- Indians could be Region D favorites
7. Giles - Galax is up next
8. Northumberland- Closer than expected game
9. Buffalo Gap- Sold win over James River
10. Patrick Henry- Big victory over Grundy

Honorable Mention:
Grundy
Lunenburg
Narrows
Westmoreland
Franklin

I know that K&Q is good but has CB fallen that much?

The Drifters have almost always been tough & good no matter what....

I think Parry McCluer is top 10 or at least honorable mention. They throttled Narrows twice last year, won at Giles in the playoffs, and lost the Region C Title game at Galax 14-0. They lost a few lineman, but skilled positions players back. They outplayed Rockbridge County last night and has some costly turnovers on the 32-29 loss. Haven't beat Rockbridge since 2016.

I agree with every bit of your top 10, except on PM. I would have them around 5th to 7th.

I'm sure as the season gets going and more games are played, they'll make it in. I do love their big back Snider

The Drifters have almost always been tough & good no matter what....

The two teams played last year twice. KQ won in 3OT and then by 20 in the playoffs. KQ is virtually intact from last year. CB had a lot of issues with the snap last night. They didn't quit though. KQ just jumped on them with 4 TDs in their first 5 or 6 plays and never looked back
