1. Essex- Legit and likely Salem bound
2. Riverheads- needs to figure a few things out but still a threat to repeat
3. Lunenburg- not sold on them yet, Nottoway isn’t a benchmark wa little too high IMO
4. Galax- much more smash mouth than the last few years which will probably get them to Salem again
5. Grayson- was supposed to come down to class 1 and dominate, maybe this is the year
6. King and Queen- playoff teams aren’t all like Essex but they can’t turn it over in the post season and win
7. George Wythe- another potential region C representative, keep an eye on them
8. Narrows- overall good squad but a bit higher than I would rank them
9. Buffalo Gap- IF the QB can make teams respect the passing game, they can sure enough pound the rock
10. Patrick Henry- seems a little Jekyl and Hyde at times, can do it but sometimes doesn’t

RR and Grundy may make a run in the playoffs but are inconsistent as well.

In my opinion this is the year Essex beats Riverheads and wins the title. From the limited amount I have seen them, there aren’t many teams that will be close to matching up with them. Of course things change and pretty much any of the teams we all mention could make a magical run, my betting money would be on Essex with Riverheads a close second.

Scenario question, if both essex and riverheads win out, where would that game be based off points?

More than likely it would be Riverheads.

Just guessing on some Rider outcomes:

Currently Essex 116 points out of 5 games, Riverheads 74 at of 4 games.

Looks to be the remaining games would give Essex 114 and Riverheads 156. At that point, Riverheads has 232 and Essex 230 (but Riverheads has 1 less game).

With past rider points guessing, I get:

Essex 262 or 26.20
Riverheads 247 or 27.44

I thought it was a forgone conclusion that if Essex wins out they host but the math doesn’t lie I suppose. Gotta say I would rather see Riverheads play all their games in Greenville though. That’s a long ways away too so who knows what will happen

Essex remaining schedule seems to be an easier path to winning out than Riverheads. That's no slight to anyone on Essex schedule or to the Gladiators. But that remaining schedule for the boys from Greenville is no joke.

Region A & B state semi game….are they deciding the host by power points or are they still alternating between the 2 Regions?

I think the fact that Riverheads is only going to play 9 games might benefit them

I seem to remember that was the case for someone out East a few years ago but I can’t remember who it was tbh. The other part is winning out, I don’t have the level of confidence I have had in recent years but it’s possible
I suppose.

Personally, I don't see anyone left on Riverheads schedule that will even keep it close. There's some teams left on their schedule that have good records, but they still aren't on the level of Riverheads

Essex just may be at its ratings peak right now. They are likely not going to get anything out of Jamestown. Sussex and Franklin are gonna be the teams that keep their rating about 21 or so. Remaining opponents have 8 wins between them right now.
