This is not my "going with my gut top 10". I will save that fun for later. This is what I feel it needs to be to start.

1.) HSHS - 3 peat - returning a ton. The one player I don't think teams can have an answer for is their big full back should they get into a ground and pound.
2.) Manchester - returning everybody and maybe as loaded as HSHS when you consider the plethora of power 5 offers
3.) Henrico - Jalon Jones returning to QB is a game-changer
4.) Life Christian - They are adding to the roster daily with current players getting offers left and right. If they were not so young they would be number 1 on my board
5.) Dinwiddie - Pope returns for his Sr year guns a blazing.
6.) TD - Lots of power 5 recruits on this squad
7.) Varina - lots of size
8.) Bird - bounce back season could be in order. Need to do a better job of keeping their composure this year and I expect them too.
9.) Monacan - Fludd wasn't the only Chief that could throw the ball. Lots returning but key pieces lost. Need a a new player or two to emerge. Conservative estimate at this point but ceiling is high.
10.) Hermitage - lost a lot - but still have a few weapons and tradition in the well.
HM: Benedictine, LD, James River, & Hopewell - seems odd to have the 3a state champ not in the top 10 but it is a tough call without seeing a game.

@CRF4Dan, @springer76 , @DinwiddieProud @BleedingNavy @DanvilleSportsHead - don't leave me hanging its time to start upping the banter.

I never include private schools in my ten ten because I just cover the public schools. I like your top ten though, it's in line with what most are saying.

This is as good as it gets. I feel like every team is properly ranked. LCA has a good argument to be ranked higher. They’re loaded.

Public schools I’d probably go:
1. Highland Springs
2. Manchester
3. Henrico
Tie 4. Varina;Bird
6. Dinwiddie
7. Dale
8. Monacan
9. James River
10. Herm

What is Matoaca’s deal? I see they have a couple of college recruits on that team. Also can’t sleep on our Hanover friends in Atlee, Hanover, and Lee Davis. You have to think they bounce back this year. Deep Run will be my sleeper of the non ranked teams.

I gotta see LD play springs tough before I hitch my horse. I would say my dark dark horse for a solid season is Glen Allen. They have a big back that is a bull dozer. Atlee will probably be solid but their district is too much to handle I'm afraid. Also, curious to see if JRT will potentially crack the 500 mark and will DF return to play solid ball. Godwin is another team that is hit or miss every year. Never a serious threat but a tough out none the less. I think there will be a lot of tough outs this year in the 804. I think James River will be a tough out too.

I think Lee-Davis will be the best of the Hanover schools. Not sure about Patrick Henry and as far as Atlee & Hanover go... they should be better than the last couple of seasons but it is hard to tell just yet given the track record of those seasons.

I think PH is going to be the top Hanover Team. Their QB/RECEIVER play looked good in 7v7 play. Hart is still the qb, right? He's good!

PH is a bit like LD to me. I never know which team is going to show up week to week
